Hey everyone. I am waiting for a '08 Prius and I want to get a head start on my EV mode mod. I would like to mount a pushbutton switch in one of the "blank" or covers next to the dimmer switch. I went to the dealer to get one of these covers so I could mount the switch to it and be ready when my car arrives. The parts guy pulled up the drawing of the dashboard and his drawing shows all three spots occupied (dimmer, ev mode button and something else). He said his computer wants hime to enter my VIN number in order to get the part number for plastic cover. Well, seeing as I don't have a VIN number he couldn't help me. Does anyone know the part number for this cover? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Joe
Try Sigma Automotive – Toyota Hybrid Prius 2004 - 2009 OEM & JDM auto accessories instead. Look about 2/3rds of the way down the page or search the page for EV switch kit. $75.
Thanks for the link to the OEM switch, but I was hoping to spend less money. More like $15 for the plastic cover and $3 for the switch. I already have the wire and pin.
Just give him a random vin, here's one from the find a prius site: JTDKB20U683453485 Please give us details!
Thanks for the suggestion about using another vin number. I ordered the part today. When I get it, I will post the part number in case others are interested.
OK. I wish I waited a day or two for the info about parts.com. Anyway, I can confirm my part number is 55539-52060-C0 (Does the B0 or C0 make a difference?). Cost was $7.80 from the dealer. Thanks everyone for your help.
The -B0 and the -C0 is the color of the part. My part number may be wrong but just make sure that color is right on your part before you leave with it.
Depends on the style. The Coastal version activates with the CC lever. The OEM switch sold overseas and the "home grown" version some of us have are located on the lower dash next to the dimmer switch
