Where does Toyota put the stock woofer? I'm looking at putting one in my Prius but I can't for the life of me see a "factory space" for it 0.o Could someone put a phot of that spot up for me please?
senectus: The woofers are the regular speakers. They are located in the doors. As far as I know there is no subwoofer on the prius nor does toyota offer one.
I am not sure but will check in morning. Looking at Toyota's site and the Option packages,the 3 in 1 stereo,AM-FM/cass/6 disc has 9 speakers in 7 locations. So in my assumtion there should be one somewhere. Kyle is on here tonight and might know off hand. Otherwise I will look in morning.
No there is no sub woofer. One of the Prius weak points, but can be added not from Toyota. I like the bazooka.
Heres the setup 1 tweeter and 1 woofer on the front Right =2 1 tweeter and 1 woofer on the front Left =2 1 Center channel (for navi, I think) =1 1 tweeter and 1 woofer on the Rear Right =2 1 tweeter and 1 woofer on the Rear Left =2 total =9 When they say 2 locations, the rear and front door panels have a tweeter and midrange each, they are in different locations. (they mean not a 2-way like when a tweeter is in the middle of a midrange.)

Pictures are coming SOON! I installed mine behind the rear seat on the plastic cover of the battery. It is simple to remove. Their is a wiring kit that i would recommend getting just to make life easier. The kit is almost plug & play. You do have to cut the lead-on wire & attach it to an ACC source like the Gray Pin 11 on the MFD Modex 13. It produces a wonderful sound & it does not take up too much space. You can remove it easily too!
When I saw/heard 9 speakers, I too assumed sub. Was disappointed to find out the 9th speaker was the useless center speaker producing mono full range. Well, as full as the speaker itself can produce. Because it's mono, and should be full range output, it would be a good place to tap a sub to. It is red and white wires on the amp, not to be confused with red and white wires going to rear speakers.

Using the center speaker sounds good, but I wonder about the comment on the Bazooka that indicated they tap into the front speakers and remove the bass from the woofers (look for the comment about cleaning up the front woofer sound). I suppose you could cut the bass via the MFD, and increase the boost on the sub's adjustment to rebalance the spectrum.
Rick57: The Bazooka has a built-in Amp that filters out all sounds above 80. KTPhil: The Bazooka actually taps into the rear speakers if you use the T-harness. you can splice it into whichever speaker you want, but the harness only access the rear speakers.

I'll be disconnecting the center speaker and using it's signal to drive my sub.
