The Spectra Blue Mica Prius Club

Here in the Northern Virginia area I see a lot of silver and white Prii but not many Spectra Blues. We just got ours and the color is great! Totally stands out from the crowd.

My color decision was a tough one between black, barcelona red, and the spectra blue. it would have been nice to see a spectra blue in person but ive never seen one! i heard its the most popular color what gives! ive heard so many nice things about the color online and the pictures looked nice so i went with it.

Thanks chrisspaulding! i was going to ask someone if they had pictures of the color with tinted windows. Is yours limo tint on the rear window, 20 in the back and 32 in the fronts or something? Im assuming you like it? Been thinking about doing that but was wondering how this color would look with varying shades

Hi all! We just got our Spectra Blue Prius Pkg. 6 on May 6th. My wife and I love it! We are averaging 48mpg!!! I emailed a few dealerships around Ann Arbor, MI about 11am May 6th, I received a call about 1:30 pm saying that they got one in. I got to the dealership about 5pm and sealed the deal.

I've had my sprectra blue '08 Prius Touring package # 6 well over a month now; picked it up on April 26th. Before I bought mine I was in the Prius market but thought I'd settle for black or barcelona red. I've seen lots of seaside pearl Priuses in my neck of the woods but wasn't all that fond of that color. Then one day I saw this beautiful dark blue Prius driving down the street and thought that's the color I must have. Found out online that Toyota calls it spectra blue mica for the Prius. So I decided that's the color I must have and I won't settle for any other exterior color but that.

That spectra blue color is like a rare animal, especially on a Touring. It wasn't easy to find in any Toyota dealer. I visited four dealerships before I found exactly what I was looking for - a spectra blue mica Touring with pkg # 6.

Funny thing - before I bought mine I had only seen maybe two spectra blue Priuses on the roads. But after buying one now I'm seeing a lot more sprecta blue Priuses now. It's a gorgeous color and I've received compliments of how it stands out in the crowd.

 

COOL. Sounds like your having a lot of fun with the new Prii. I am too.
Haven't seen a single other Spectra Blue yet - fine by me.

Just picked up our car! We are in the club.

 

Saw a spectra blue near the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon the other day, my first sighting of one in Pennsylvania. Come to think of it, first sighting of one, period.
Not many in the Northeast, it would appear.

 

I've never seen another blue yet. Not sure how I'll feel when I do. I like the rarity. For sure I'm the only blue Prii w/ blacked out emblems tho.

I've had my 2008 #6 Spectra Blue since early November 2007. When I saw it in the hot-off-the-press 2008 brochure, I couldn't be sold on any other Prius even though there were REALLY none around then - I learned from one dealership that Toyota had only produced 35 total of these babies on earth at the time. Most salesmen I talked to had never heard of, much less seen it. Luckily, there are LOTS of Toyota dealers in the greater Philadelphia area, and when each one told me they couldn't find one to dealer trade in, I just went to a different dealer! Finally found mine. Couldn't love this color and this car more! And I STILL haven't seen another one like mine on the road!

HOWEVER. Has anyone had any difficulty with picking up scratches on this paint? My baby is garage-kept and handled with love, but I have a number of scratches that actually show up as white. My (natural) fingernails have even created spiderwebs of white scratches around the door handles (obviously not from keys - thank you, SmartKey!). I'm working with my dealer on it, but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed easy scratching on this paint??? Please let me know! Could just be mine, so please don't be alarmed, prospective and brand-new Spectra Blue Buyers....

 

Does most of a Spectra Blue Prius count?

 

Yeah, when I saw SBM on the website I was sold. I wasn't really keen on the baby blue or whatever it is that they call it. Serenity been mine for almost a month now

 

It's time for me to join the Spectra Blue Mica club! I've had my Touring #6 for three weeks now (hey, I've been busy playing, uh, I mean driving it so I haven't had time to join until now!)

I admit the color wasn't the one I thought I wanted. But now I love it! I've only seen one other like it here.

 

I have owned a Spectra Blue Mica, Package #2 since January. I still get lots of questions and compliments regarding the color here in Los Angeles. My dealer had to search far and wide to find the car I wanted. I am happy to be a member of the club.

Just a little addendum...
I saw my first Spectra Blue in the area aside from mine parked at the King of Prussia mall on Sunday afternoon. It's about time mine had a twin in the neighborhood! Welcome!!!

 

I get hose white scratches (around the door handles too)! Those and front hood chips (white also)

 

How long have you had yours, Chrisspaulding? Do you think there is an issue with the clear coat here?
