When we picked up our 2008 prius the salesman told us to push the start button once and then again with foot on brake to bring up the vehicles display then so you can drive car. We have found by just getting in an putting the brake on and pushing the start button does the same thing and instead of pushing the park button if you push the start button 1 time it puts it into park and shuts car off as well. Is this wrong to do this????
Nope. That's how I start and stop the car. ON = Open door, sit down, close door, fasten seat belt, foot on brake, power button once. OFF = Foot on brake to bring vehicle to a stop, power button once, unfasten seat belt, open door, stand up.
By the way, this is in the owner's manual, which is a highly recommended read. There's a lot in there to help you figure out how everything works. Unfortunately the sales guys generally don't read the manual so they don't always tell you correct things.
I dont have much use for the parking left foot brake. My left leg doesnt have the power to set it anyway.
