Although I'm not in the market for another one at this time, I visit Carmax every now and then to check out the Prius offerings. I guess as an engineer, it's my way of having a good time. That and driving my Prius. I see today that they have a 2007 with 24k miles. Carmax says I can transfer this into my zip code for $499. Let's say I decide to purchase it and have it transferred. Which warranty do I get on the battery? 8/100 or 10/150? Might be worth the 500 bucks if the 10/150 sticks. Ok, back to work..........
The battery warranty is based on where the car was originally sold, if the original selling state has 10/150 then it still has 10/150. Best way though is to take the VIN# to a local dealer and get a history printout from the service dept. as it will spell out what warranties are associated with the specific car.
