The Prius Waiting List Support Group.

Freedom, Your story made me laugh! My kids call me a "Prius Stalker" because occasionally I look for Prius's in parking lots since I didn't know what color I was going to get. BTW, Whole Food stores have the most color selections in their lots. I also have been know to ask an owner how they like their car. Everyone I have talked to loves their car and have been excited to talk to me about it.
I am exhausted from waiting but am sure I will soon forget this miserable waiting experience when I am behind the wheel driving away. Then I will be sympathic to anyone wanting to check out my Prius. I have been driving Suburban's for the past 14 years! This will be very new for me.

 

Checked in with my dealer today. They are delivering ones to folks who have waited about 11 weeks so they are coming through in something under 90 days. They don't have anyone who has been waiting 90 days yet so I'm hopeful. I been waiting since May 24 (or 27th depending on how you count it). I will checking the web site on Aug 7 to see if mine finally shows up.

We had originally hoped to have the new car for our vacation starting Friday but it didn't happen. We compensated and are renting a Prius for the trip. It will not be the touring edition we are waiting for but it will get us started.

 

85 days for me today! Whooooo!

I know the wait stretched out to 6 months for the earlier pri. Anybody know what's the longest wait for the 2008 (from order to delivery) in this thread so far?

 

I have been on the list for approx. 2 months now. Today I visited my dealer( Long Island NY) to pick up a 2009 Prius brochure. My dealer said they were finally beginning to get the correct allotments from the Maryland port and stated that there are a few ships still at sea awaiting docking. So I still dont know if mine will be an 08 or 09. But more 08s would arrive shortly at least in the NY area. It really doesnt matter to me as according to the 2009 Prius brochure nothing has changed between the model years.So far I have been offered 3 cars , all were colors I didnt want and packages I cant use. The wait continues....

 

Been waiting since mid May for my Mica blue touring model. NOT Funny!

 

That's exactly what I started off with but I had to change my specs because I needed my car sooner than they could deliver it.

it's great to hear you got your BR / #3, kscableguy ... and thanks for including the photo; gives many of us here something to drool over until ours come in.

by the way, we got on "The List" the same day you did; May 28th ... and good luck selling the Santa Fe ....

congratulations, Mendryl!!! yes ... one MUST be mindful of those exit ramps and such! i think we're going to just put a towel or duct tape or something over the MSD (?) when we get ours ... too much distraction ....

thanks for the very kind words, realale ... and for the encouraging thoughts; although, SINCE we received that good news, we haven't heard another word!!! that was eight days ago already ....

i'm so glad you found another / a more "competent" dealership, cramam! congrats to you ... and ... WHAT "internet coupon"? i found a coupon on-line, too, but when i printed it out, it said "excluding hybrids" ....

( your Prius wouldn't happen to be named after the Nimbus of Futurama fame; would it?!?!? )

 

The purchase agreement I signed in Gresham, OR had in large red letters:

"ALL DEPOSITS TAKEN ON NEW VEHICLE ORDER ARE NON-REFUNDABLE EARNEST MONIES"

Don't know how enforceable that is--may depend on State. I put $500.00 down in mid-July and was told six to eight weeks for a 1224 PGK 5 Silver Pine, MSRP.

 

I might be the longest - I've been waiting since April 23. I will be picking up a car tomorrow - though it's not the one I ordered. Wanted Spectra Blue #5, going to accept Magnetic Gray #6, because it's either that or wait a few more months for the 2009s, and I've been borrowing my dad's truck for a long time now.

 

With lordbah leaving us anybody else left waiting since April? We can count them off the list and then we can start with the May class of Wait Listers

I am waiting since May 28 for a Touring #3 in NJ and my dealer informs my wait will be for at least another couple of months

 

I just read that the 2009 has an IPOD accessory for $199? Can anyone confirm this? It sounds like it would allow you to control your IPOD where you play your radio and stuff. I wonder if it would work with the video screen? That would be awesome! I ordered mine 5 weeks ago, do you think it's too late to call up the dealer and ask for this accessory?

 

If you don't mind me asking, what Toyota dealer on Long Island are you dealing with?

I have been dealing with Westbury Toyota, and I find them to be a bunch of a-holes!

 

Ordered the end of May and am supposed to receive our '09 Magnetic Gray Pkg #6 around Labor Day.

 

We ordered may 23rd and we are picking up our Spectra Blue #6 today. I thought it would never get here, especially since it was on the truck for 12 days. Everyday for the past 12 days was supposed to be the day considering the dealership is only 8 hours from the port. We never got an answer as to why it took so long. Since the car is here now, we are willing to forgive it.

 

Its an accessory in the 2009 prius brochure. You can get a copy at your dealer.

 

Competition in Middle Island. They as other dealers have a very lengthy waiting list now.

 

I thought the dealer ran out of brochures six months ago
