    Hi All,

Simple question. The 2008 Prius non base package models all come with an aux audio input. Unfortunately, the 2008 Base package model that I purchased DOES NOT come with an aux audio input.

Can anyone advise to after market audio input adapters for the Prius? I do not want more complex solutions such as the DICE, etc. I just want a simple aux input adapter.

Any and all advice/recommendations are welcome.

The Aux input is standard on the mid base and touring.

The bottom line base does not have AUX input, cruise control or SKS among other things.

You may want to consider an FM transmitter. Best Buy, Radio Shack, Circuit City etc... I used one on my last vehicle with decent results. You do get what you pay for with an FM transmitter.

I feel for you. The AUX input was on the top of my list for the must haves in my Prius purchasing decision.

Here is a list of some options for your situation.

Where is the aux audio input located? Is this for the IPOD? I must sound ancient but I am working my way into this century's electronic evolution.

In the center console. Power adapter on the left and a small port for an audio device on the right. AUX will take iPod as well as other signals with the right connector.

I think it works just fine. The sound is far better than with an FM transmitter and none of the hassles of changing stations or interference. I live near several TV/radio transmission towers.
My biggest thing is figuring out the final placement of the unit and the wires to my satelite radio. Right now everything is just sitting in the lower glove box. I think I am going to bundle them together with some sort of cord wrap so I just have to grab the end of the bundle and plug everything in. Right now I have a tangle of wires in a wad.

    Thanks for the mini review.

In addition to the Car2Aux, I am looking at getting one of those iPhone holders that attaches to the air vent. Hopefully, then I'll able to hide the unit + wires in the glove box and run one wire to the iPhone.

Think I'll start ordering the items tonight!

i tried using the fm transmitter in my tomtom once, and was not impressed with the
quality of the sound, and wrote it off to the theory that the tomtom was in the front of the vehicle where as the prius antenna was to the rear, and never used it again

    just my 2 cents

definatly go with the grom car2aux I installed mine today, it took 20 mins and it works great. At 60 bucks, u can't beat the price. It's costs less than some top quality FM transmitters, and you don't have to deal with any static.

I just bought the Belkin TuneBase Direct Hands Free Car Kit for iPhone for my base 2008 Prius before I realized there was no aux input. The threads I have read that deal with this issue are from 2008, so does anyone have any updates on what I would need to buy to get my iPhone 4 working with the Belkin? Would an auxiliary input converter do? Suggestions on a cheap fix?
