Yes I know because I just saw that around here it has jumped 0.20 cents since last night. Ouch! Hope the 94 octane doesn't go to far out of site. It usually doesn't change as fast as 87.

Believe me, I had a stark reminder of why I don't drive my truck much anymore. It cost me $60 to fill it last week. However, that was the first tank of fuel I've put in that truck since last fall.

I need a better shot at the morning news, if they covered this. Too much to do at work to see the evening news, and 11PM news interferes with my Family Guy watching. I could have crammed more gas in on the way to work, instead of hoping to do the same on the way home if I find somebody who hasn't heard this news.

Of course, it'll only last an extra 150 miles since that's how long it's been since the last fill-up, but that $0.75 or so savings will make me feel better when I fill up again later at $2+...

hmm.. currently 87 over here can be found at the lowest 2.07. that was two days ago when i filled up. When i fill up possibly tomorrow, it should cost a lot more. Average 87 octane cost around 2.20 or so. My guess (seeing how prices normaly change around here) is that some stations are very close to the 3.00 mark. the low around here might just be 2.30 or so now (if a jump just accured) I'm hoping for 2.10 at most for 87.

Maybe i should sale my low profiles and but my stock tires back on...

Do any of you really get almost 12 gallons in your Prius? I only get 9.5 on avg.

I make a valiant effort to FILL my tank when refueling, but rarely do I go past 10 times the current MPG reading before doing that. That makes my average amount around 10 gallons...

Here is great website for monitoring gas prices. Even though it is Jacksonville Florida specific, the graph allows you to see the trends for anywhere in the country. Kind of cool if you like graphs. The site also has some other cool features, but more tailored to Jax gas prices.

Upon investigation, the parent web address is:

    http://www.gasbuddy.com/

This will allow you to access the gas prices in your area.

Prices will probably continue to inch up. Hopefully, that will cause at least some more interest in hybrids.

Then again, well designed diesels are economical too.

I remember $0.89 gas prices no more than 8 or 9 years ago.

    Ah, well... :|

Lol. I saw this article earlier today... My reaction...

    Shrug... I own a Prius...

Perhaps I'll laugh my "extra" evil laugh as I drive past the SUV owners at the pumps. I figure it'll cost me an extra $2.00 Cdn. to fill up my Prius - and a fillup still lasts me 2 weeks or more on-average.

    Yawn :p

Prius-type hybrids are twice as cost-effective. The Prius was designed first to reduce emissions (AT-PZEV) with good fuel economy being a byproduct.

I generally refill the fuel tank at the final blinking bar. After a vigorous "throw up" with the second tank, I now stop when I reach 10.0 gallons. Ten gallons makes it easy to calculate mpg.

Gasoline should cost $5.00 per gallon, with the extra $3 or so going to constructive alternatives - air qualilty, light rail, maglev trains, photovoltaics, and such.

    :iagree:

i fill up to about 10.5 gallons. it burbs and such at 10.. shuts off at 9.5... and i can see fuel and slowly... s..l..o..w..l..y watch it stretch the bladder.. er.. watch the gas slowly dissapear back into the tank.. so, i stop at that point. the line is long enough behind me. :) i go to the cheapest gas stations.
