Has anyone hauled a new washing machine home in thier Prius. I need a washer and I would like to buy it at Costco, it is a lot cheaper there than elsewhere. I just don't know if it would fit in.
Take measurements. But I'm guessing no, not even out of the box. I bought a small cabinet freezer there and couldn't get it in. Had to put it in my parents' caddy and even then had to take it out of the box. A washer is also pretty heavy. If they'll deliver see what the fee is. Some places, like Home Depot and Sears will either deliver for free or you can get a rebate to get your delivery fee refunded. That might make a washer at Home Depot a better deal than CostCo.
Unless you're talking about a miniture washing machine, I don't think you've got a chance of getting it in the back of the Prius. It sounds like a tape measure is going to be your friend. There's also always renting a truck. Locally, Home Depot rents a couple of trucks by the hour. It all depends on what the cost difference is between Costco and someplace that delivers.
