Update From my contact at Fred Anderson Toyota today: Your standing on our Prius list is as follows: 46th overall 7th for package #2 Our next allocation is around the 17th of this month. Decent chance I could be in a prius later this month, if not then it sounds like a lock for next month!!
Update: Good to hear from you. We did get an allocation. You have moved up to from 46th to 40th overall on our list. I'll let you know how much you move up in about 3 weeks.
Well, I'm getting my deposit back from Fred Anderson....turns out they've started loading them up with extras too (about $2000 worth on the three they offered me). Going to go through Truliant Credit Union in Winston-Salem, NC -- they have had me on their list for 2 months and should have one for me in 4-6 weeks.
My experience with Greenville Toyota, salesman Richard Atencia, was better. Ordered (3 color choices) on May 9th, the credit card was charged on May 15th when my choice came through on allocations, and delivery on May 20th. The only extra was the PV40 Carpet Mats (no ToyoGuard, etc). Your experience may vary, but it was worth the 60 mile drive from Newport NC for me. Tell 'em Nelson sent ya.
Was this recently? This past May? I'll definitely check with them if things don't work out with the credit union (since I'm already in with them right now). Definitely good to know about another possibility short of going to Richmond, VA! Jack
Jack, Which is closer to you, Charlotte or Richmond? If Charlotte is closer, you may want to look into Scott Clark Toyota. The selection they have is HUGE compared to any other dealer I've seen around the area. I'm not sure HOW they sell their cars since I actually have to force someone to talk to me when I went there, no one ever returned my phone call to speak with a salesman, and no one has ever followed up on my email inquiries. BUT, they still have a huge selection of vehicles. I wish I could tell you more about the dealership. Good luck.
