    Did you turn it off?
Look in the hand book for instructions.
Did you dim it? --> As above.

No I did not turn it off, it just didnt come back on after being left overnight. It is not turned to dim and fuses were checked as good. It will not come on by touching either of the four buttons around the screen like the manual says it should, or any other buttons anywhere.

Patsparks, Is it a shame when your car gets better mileage than your bike? mine sure does i ride a 2002 yamaha warrior with a v&h pro pipe and many other goodies and my prius gets at the least 10 more mpg

It seems appropriate to take your car to the dealer and report the MFD failure, as it should be covered under the 3 year/36K mile general warranty.

I hope my extended warranty will cover it. I have owned it for 12 months and have 43000 miles on it allready. As you can tell I bought mine to cover an extensive sales territory.

UPDATE Took it to toyota west [statesville n.c.] today and they confirmed my screen is dead. My extended warrenty is going to cover it with a 100.00 deductable. Toyota West has been wonderful to work with from the purchase and great service after the purchase. Chris in the service dept. is excelent at getting things done and allways up to the challenge. He has a new one on the way to be installed in the next 5 to 6 days. Now i just need to find that 100 extra dollars. If your in N.C. you should check these guys out before your next purchase they really take care of their customers.

Great to hear that they are going to replace it under warranty. As far as the $100 goes, you ought to have lots of $ from all of the gas you've saved by driving the Prius (as opposed to just about anything else) for the past 40K+ miles! :)

Good that the warranty is coming to the rescue. Unusual for a post 2005 prius screen to fail.

Yes my bike uses more fuel than my Prius. Around town the bike uses about 5L/100km but on the open road at 110km/h it uses 7L/100km, which is nearly as much as a 2 litre car. I put it down to the trailer I was towing and wind resistance due to the dirty shape.

My Prius is currently getting 4.1L/100km across town and 5.2L/100km on my last trip at 100 - 110km/h

Yes, Its the only small car that fits my 6'3 245 lb frame comfortably and gets enough mpg to allow me to drive as much as I need to. I could not do my job without it!!! I have come to like it enough that I would keep it even if I didnt need to drive as much.
