I ordered my Silver Pine Mica Prius Base model with the leather interior add-on. I see every one describing their Prius models with the various package number. My question is this...is my model considered the package #1? Sorry for the lame question but was just curious.
Welcome To PC!! The packages run from 1-6. Bets bet go to Toyota'a Web site and see what comes with each. Hope This Helps.
there could be 2 different models you could get. you could get the base or the base with pkg. 1. the base doesn't come with cruise and the pkg. 1 does. just depends on what comes in the dealer allocation. the leather would be port installed.
Hi pri_tex, I cannot tell from your description which option package, if any, that you have. It's possible that you have no option package at all, in which event the answer to your question would be NO, you do not have option package #1. For 2008, Toyota came out with a more stripped down Base or Standard model, i.e., it doesn't have the following which used to be included in the Base or Standard Prius: - Wheel trim rings - Heated outside mirrors - Cruise control - Pockets behind the front seats - Tonneau cover On top of this 2008 Base or Standard Prius are the six numbered option packages. You can see what's included in the 2008 Base/Standard Prius, plus what's included in each of option packages # 1 through 6, in the 2008 Prius eBrochure which I've linked for you here: http://www.toyota.com/html/tcuv/brochures/08_prius.pdf Then separate from the numbered option packages can be dealer or port installed after market or after factory options like leather seat covers. Factory leather seat covers normally are included only in option package #6. But with dealer or port installed options, it's conceivable that you could have a Base or Standard Prius with no option package, but with dealer or port installed leather seat covers.
Hi Pri Tex - two questions for you : 1: Do you have cruise control? 2: How much did you pay? I paid $21,444 for a Base Prius (no options installed/ no cruise/ stripped down and lovin it!)
Thanks to everyone for your input. From looking at the brochure I've concluded that I have the base model with pkg. 1 with the leather upgrade. Don't know if I have the patience for a 3 or 4 month wait, but I guess it will be that much more fun when it finally does get here.
If you are getting a base with Leather, I would think it is either Pkg 6 or the Leather is going to be dealer installed.
No, leather does not come as a factory option unless you get a base or touring #6...Period. If you're getting leather on anything else, it is not a factory installed option. Sometimes dealers will swap out things like leather seats and fabric between two cars. For instance, doing so with a #6 would make it a #5.
Now I'm confused. I thought the base model came without any packages, i.e. if you didn't have any packages you therefore had the base model. If not, then do I have the base model with package five? Or does the term base model distinguish from touring model?
Base and Touring are available in 6 trims. No package, or package #2 though #6. You might as well call it package #1 through #6. Leather only comes with package #6 unless your dealer is doing something non standard with your car. They might have a local shop do leather. But it would probably be more practical to just swap seats with another Prius.
There seems to be a lot of confusion here. I guess most people don't realize that Toyota calls all the non touring models "Base". Easiest way to know whether you have a touring is the tire size is 195/55 R16 while all the base models come with 185/65 R15. As far as which packages the most notable differences are Base no package = No Cruise control, no trim rings Base #1 - Cruise / heated outside mirrors, wheel trim rings Base #2 - all above + backup camera, smart key, Vehicle Stability Control Base #3 - all above + anti-theft system, auto dimming rearview mirror w/ home link, premium stereo, Bluetooth Base #4 - all above + HID headlights Base #5 - all above + Fog Lights, Navigation Base #6 - all above + Leather As far as the Touring they are harder to come by and I believe they are all the equivalent of the Base #5 and #6 + the "tuned suspension", slightly larger wheels and spoiler.
There is no base #1 and base without any package comes standard with cruise. Perhaps you're referring to the "Standard" model.
Model 1220, Standard. MSRP $21500 (no cruise, no tonneau cover, no back seat pockets) Model 1224, Base. MSRP $22875. Moderl 1226, Touring. MSRP $23770.
