Anyone get these two products to work together? I have just the basic remote for the ADT system (not the one that talks to you). I find I just don't use the remote when it's in the arm rest, but I think I'd hit the button as I close the garage door IF I could get the damn thing to work. Anyone had any success with that and can suggest any tricks to get them to work?
Evan, are you saying that there's interference between the Prius' rearview remote and ADT or that you're just trying to get the Prius to set the ADT? i've got the talking ADT in my home, and your post lit a light in my head with this question.... can the Prius set the ADT, too?! wife and i would LOVE that, if it could happen. we also have a Genie garage door, and i expect that to work with little problem. what do you think? (edit added)..... Amen, Dr. Evan... if my car can turn the ADT on and off, that would be a selling feature! Hey, Toyota Marketing.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, rereading my question makes perfect sense to me, but I can see how it could confuse...I hate when I'm not clearer. What I meant to ask was if anyone was able to program their ADT remote into the Homelink so that the Security system could be activated via the Homelink. I've tried a few times and haven't been successful. The ADT people didn't know anything about Homelink and weren't very helpful in that regard. There is NO interference b/w the homelink and the ADT system.
I would suggest looking at the ADT remote and see if you can find the frequency on it. Try looking up the FCC id, if it has one. If this in in the range of the homelink mirror then maybe. Shure would be neat. 8)
