Hi all - I'm still trying to figure out a solution that will let me occasionally haul bikes on my 2002. I've noticed several Gen 2 owners like the Saris Bones bike rack. Has anyone used one of these on a Gen 1? I'm curious as to how well they fit--I used an "el cheapo" trunk mounted rack to get a new bicycle home from the store today, and I wasn't thrilled with how it fit (although we did get home without a scratch on the car!) If anyone has any pictures of this rack on a Gen 1, I'd love to see them. Linda
I have a 2001 and my 3 bike SARIS Bones is on it all summer and fall. Works well - I got it for this car because my prior car did not have a spoiler. Sorry no pictures.
Hi all....new 09 Prius owner. I need to figure out a bike rack solution before winter finally moves out. I was eying up a Saris Bones universal trunk mount before I totaled my old car and purchased the new Prius. How does the Saris Bones fit an 09 Prius? My other option is to install a Class I receiver hitch and use my heavy duty Reese 2" receiver bike rack I assumed both options will run me in the $150-200 range as I haven't priced the Saris Bones or Class I receiver (and 2" adapter) in a while. Opinions welcome as I am green regarding the Prius and accessorizing it. Fried Rice
