'00Hyundai Elantra>'03Toyota Prius>'05Toyota prius>'02Mercedes C240>'02Buick Rendezvous>~{And now!!! '06Toyota Prius}~ I am currently at 60k, and would like to see 250k before I even think about getting rid of it!
I didn't care much for the 03 prius, because that model had low clearance, and cost me a LOT of money. I loved my 05 prius, it was just right. However, sometimes you have to loose something to realize how much you love it. I went through a couple other cars and settled back onto the prius. Knowing that I was going to have it for the longest of any of my cars I went all out and got all the goodies to go with it. (Except touring.) I am extremely happy with it, and glad to explain to the person next to me in the parking lot how great it is when I am loading groceries. (I don't know about you guys, but with $4 per gallon gas, I am getting a lot of questions now days.)
It will replace my 2005 BMW 325i, which I am giving to my wife, who is giving her 2003 BMW 325i to our daughter, who is going to sell her 1994 BMW 325Is.
It replaces my BMW Z4, which replaces my BMW Z3, which replaced the wonderful combo of a 1967 Mustang convertible and an EV1. I have become practical in my not-quite-old-age.
My '08 pkg #6 replaced my '08 Nissan Armada LE. If gas were to increase to $8/gal I'd still be paying less to fill the Prius than to fill the Armada now at $4/gal and I'd be getting twice the miles for the same fillup. Was a no brainer, even with the loss in trade-in... -Andy
We are keeping high mpg in the family. Our (soon to be) Mag Gray #2 will be replacing a 1996 VW Passat TDI wagon. 283,000 miles, 40+ miles/gallon 19+ gallon tank. It's getting a little tired but I'm sure I'll find the right caretaker for it. Only 1500 96-97 TDI wagons were made.
Not really replacing anything but our minivan will sit in the driveway now and not use any gas. We are saving about $200.00/month or more now that gas here is at $4.27. It pays for half a car payment. But I know that everyone already knows that.
We'll be trading in DH's mint condition 2001 Lexus ES300 for an '08 Onyx Black #6. We're currently waiting for our Prius to arrive in the next week or 2.
I replaced a 2005 Ford Expedition. The Ford dealer looked very sad when I pulled up with yet another big truck to be added to the lot- I had a three year lease and wanted a Mariner Hybrid, but when I tested it, just didn't do it for me and I wanted a Prius.
We replaced a 2001 GMC Jimmy that got 12 mpg around town. We are saving nearly enough now to make the Prius payment and having fun doing it.
I traded in a Subaru Baja. It was definitely a fun and useful auto, and there may be some winter days when I miss the all-wheel drive, but I LOVE my Prius and have no regrets.
My very dearly loved 15 yr old Camry with 250,000 miles on it! I'm donating it next week...yes it still runs just fine. Gotta love Toyota.
my old hyundai 4l engins with 180k mils on it, i gave it to the wife!! and she always want to drive the Prius Cabby!!
