WOW! Sounds like a GREAT deal, NOT!!!:nono: My 2005 Package#6 was less than this price brand new. Get real!
Check out how much used Prii are going for now. And how long the waiting lists are for new. Not unreasonable in L.A. A little high for San Diego. The HOV stickers add $2,000-$4,000 to KBB.
come to SoCal and u'll know whats up check the local papers/craigslist/autotrader ppl asking 30k+ for a base model 05 with 50+k
KBB lists this car in excellent condition with this mileage in SoCal at $21,210. Add $4k max to that price for HOV and you're still at $25,210. Still think it's not overpriced????
Just so you know that I'm not blowing smoke....This is from cars.com and this Prius is a package 6 with Navigation. Maybe not quite $10k savings, but $8500 is pretty close. 2005 Toyota Prius - $19,000 Contact: Jason Kinsey (Individual Seller) Call: 208-870-8268 (Mobile) Print This Listing Send to Phone Email This Page Save Ad | View Saved (0)
He isn't in a hurry to sell, he'll get that price for it. They are scarce here in California (or Kaleeforneea) if our governor is saying it. I just got a call from my dealer offering more than I paid for my two year old Prius. check this out... Certified Pre-Owned Inventory - Extensive Inventories of quality certified Toyota Vehicles, Palo Alto, California (CA)
Yeah, unfortunately we're heading that direction.... if he's not in a hurry he'll probably get it. His price is almost exactly the same as my out the door price form my '08 package 6, 6 months ago.... and here you're getting a middle of the road version with 3 years and 50,000 miles. Ouch. ...but, the price is what the market is willing to pay.
Sure hope he doesn't sell it, at least not through PriusChat! If he gets that heated by a fellow forum member, he shouldn't post on here.
Yes, some of the dealers are getting $30K for an 05 -usually fully loaded- with about 50K miles - WITH Stickers! (in our LA area)...
carpool and carpool stickers are a joke!! i commute from newport beach to anaheim on the 55 and 5 and there is VERY little difference between carpool lane and regular lane. there may be a huge difference depending on your commute. as for me, stickers are worth a few pennies to me and i'd rather have a new prius for less $$.
I just don't understand why people in LA wouldn't want to drive a little north. I live on the Central Coast and you can get a new one with the same options for 24,000, I realize it doesn't have a sticker but it does have 0 miles.
Dude, the point you seem to be missing again and again is that this car has HOV stickers - car pool stickers! :frusty: You can't get them anymore here in California, they've issued all they are going to issue. People are paying more $ for vehicles with the stickers. The stickers allow a single occupant to drive in the carpool lanes all over CA (unless it's a toll road). Also, in some cities it allows you to park for free at the city meters. That's why some people have no interest in buying a Prius from out of state - it won't get you into the carpool lane LEGALLY.
