I have a t3 prius (57 plate) and I just need a few answers from the wise forum.

Does the T3 prius have MP3 support (I've made a Mp3 disc but it doesn't seem to work)

If it does support Mp3 do I need to do anything special to the discs? Otherwise what is the best way to get MP3 support on the car?

I would like to use the steering wheel controls and the touch screen - is the only way to pay for the 6 CD Option from the dealership?

Also, I cannot find the AUX input - does it have one?

    Thanks.

:welcome: Welcome to PriusChat, thegameispw! You don't say where you are or what year your T3 is, so we're lacking some information (Suggestion: fill in your profile.)

The 2006 model was the first year to support MP3 decoding. Base level models may not have the AUX port in the center console or CD players that support MP3s.

Looking at Toyota's UK web site, it looks like the T3 has the single-disc CD player, 6 speakers, and no Auxiliary input. I don't think the T3 Prius can play MP3 CDs. For that you need a T4 or T-Spirit.

You shouldn't need to use Nero to make an MP3 CD. All you need is to make a data CD containing the MP3 files (and make sure the CD is finalized).

If you're using Windows, the option to choose after you insert a blank CD is "create a data disk" rather than anything specifically to do with music files.

Tried it, does not work. Shall now assume that the T3 has no MP3 playback. Now my question shall be - how easy is it to fit an aftermarket stereo in the prius - in the space underneath the current radio. I would like to still use the touch screen too but that's not essential but the steering wheel controls to work would be nice.

This is the right forum to read. You're not alone in wanting something different. The model like yours is the base or package 2 in the US. There are a few options.

Right, assume I buy an aftermarket cd mp3 player. Does the volume controls on the wheel still work?

If you open the LH rear door and look under the front LH seat, you will find a black box. The box is the DVD player for the Sat/Nav. This has a slot opening that you should see. There is a little slider on the left of the slot which, when you slide it across, will close the DVD cover.

    Hope that helps.
