Got it! The whole experience was great with the exception of dealing with switching from our old car via Allstate. Worst customer service ever. after 3 hours on the phone at the dealership we finally switched providers and were out the door 20 minutes later!

The car is awesome!!!!!!! We did't get our first color choice and ended up taking a package 6 instead of a package 3, but my wife and I couldn't be happier.

 

We put down $500 and ordered our Driftwood Pearl Pkg. 3 on June 7. Salesman said 3 to 12 weeks, depending on shipments. Said they got 5 cars the week before. Said they got a shipment about every two weeks. I called him two weeks later. He said they only got one (1) car on the previous shipment; said they had no control over how many were shipped; said we were "about" seventh or eighth on the list,now. At that rate, it will be 4 months before we get our order. I guess patience is a virtue. If so, I'm a virgin.:redface:

 

We tried but they kept faxing over the wrong info. It went well beyond inept.

 

I got a call from my dealer last week and he offered me more than I paid for mine. I said "thanks but no thanks".

 

Got a call from my dealer today. One month down and about two more to go. He said our Magnetic Gray Pkg #6 should be here around labor day. He also said it would be an '09.

 

Ordered ours on May 30th and now are #1 on the list. Passed on a Red #2. We want a #3. Just emailed my dealer to see about a '09 if our deposit is good for one of those.

Question: When I go to Toyota's page and they list their monthly speicals they show the Prius starting at 21,100, which is $400 off MSRP. Are your dealers giving you the $400 off? This is for the Kansas City Region.

 

Just took the plunge and put $500 down on a Blue Mica Package #4.

Dealer estimates that it could be up to 8 weeks since I am particular about package / color.

 

I'm still waiting since April 23. My salesman made one attempt early on to offer me another package and another color, which I declined, but since then nothing. Early on, he was talking as if he could order from the factory exactly what I wanted, which played a part in my declining - but that turns out not to be true. Tells me now I'm at the top of the list but that hasn't seemed to mean anything. They've had my $500 deposit over two months now, I should charge them interest. Not a pleasant start to the Prius ownership experience.

 

I placed my order 1.5 months ago, but the dealer hasn't cashed my check. I guess he wanted it just as a form of collateral.

 

I am getting pretty annoyed with my dealership they called me 16 days ago to tell me that I should have it by the end of this month and they PROMISED me that they would call me once a week with up dates I have not heard from them for over 2 weeks now this is the 2nd time I have gone through this with them I ordered my car may 3rd and they told me 1-5 weeks 5 weeks came and went and at that time they also promised me a once a week call they never called and I finally called them and ask what the problem was with calling me the salesman then got really rude and actually told me that he "refused to sell me a car!!!!" and that he had just given away the other day a prius in my color and package even though he had told me I was number one on the list (found out they had not had a prius my color my package in months ! another lie ) so I told him that I wanted to speak to his manager that then we found out that that sales man had told me about 5 lies in total. The manager then gave me to another sales man because I told him that the other guy refused to sell me a car and I did not want money going to him anyway ........well anyway I got the call 17 days ago now and they have not called me with updates or a VIN or anything I am afraid to rock the boat too hard here but at the same time I want to know what is going on with my car...
Thanks for the vent my friends that I have told this story to are not on the wait list and do not really understand I figure here you will all get it !!!!!!!

 

This wouldn't be Butler would it? Just curious? I had some dealings with them a few months back, got so mad I went to another dealership.

This forum is a valuable resource not only to thousands of Prius owners and fans but also to Toyota. Wonder if Danny and friends can leverage the popularity of this site with Toyota to share some meaningful delivery information with us members in waiting. Toyota should publicize some regional information on deliveries and schedules for the benefit of it's customers and to keep it's dealers honest. Right now, all we have for information is unsubstantiated projections by dealers. I for one would love to verify with Toyota all my dealer's promises

 

No it is Beck down in greenwood a good 35-40 min away:tsk:..I wanted to deal with Butler (only because I live about 3miles away from it) but when I called on the phone to all the indy and surrounding areas toyota dealerships they were quoting 2-4 months and Beck quoted 1-5 weeks we now know that was a complete LIE :lie: because now it is going to end up being 3 - 3.5 months anyway I should have it with in the month I keep telling myself that over and over and over about a million times a day haha

How long have you been waiting.. I went to Bloomington and got on a waiting list May 20th? They haven't made any promises, could be three weeks, could be three months. What I've been doing is I've marked their website to see their inventory every day, sometime twice a day. The cars they are getting will show up there even if they are already sold. Well that's what I was told.

What do call a bus load of car salesmen sinking in the ocean.

A good start.

I hate purchasing a car.. I'd rather have a root canal then this, but I need a new vehical.

ordered March (yes, March) 6, still waiting

ordered red Touring, pkg 2, paid $7k down. They said 6-8 wks. Now in wk 18. No information whatsoever from dealer, Colchester (CT) Toyota.

 

I just got a call from the dealer. They have a blue prius coming in. I'd wanted a green or drifwood one but is a blue prius in the garage worth more than one in transit?
What to do?... What to do?...
It's only been 7 weeks, they'd said 7 months.

Driftwood is blue....Mica is just a darker blue, a very classy color. Might show the dirt a little more. Unless it is a color you hate, I'd go for it.
