Snagged at the dealership today, cars to follow anytime. A brief skim of the 22 page brochure showed no apparent changes.

Why do the brochure pictures always show tinted windows, which are not included in any of the packages? Do they apply tinting for their model cars, or do they tint them in Photoshop?

Guess the dark tinted windows makes the exterior stand out more, otherwise you'd be seeing the background scenery through the windows.

Its a glamor shot, kinda like a SUV pictured on a snow capped mountain (truth in advertising) ?

Evidently, no change to the brochure either, since that is the same shot on the front of the PRIUS 08 brochure.
I'd like to see the 09 color Combinations, if this is the 09 brochure.

I was going to post the detailed spec pages, but my new Epson V500 broke after the above scan.

No color changes in the '09 brochure, but why wouldn't it be the '09 brochure?

Darn! I was hoping for some new exciting reading, guess Toyota decided to change some numbers and carry on with the essentially same brochure. :pout:

    amped,

Well, possibly because it looks exactly like the front cover of the 2008 brochure (except for the year printed on the left edge). That's why you were asked for the other 22 pages [to see if anything inside the cover (specs & color chart, for instance) has chg'd]. Seems I remember somebody post'g something about a new color for 2009 accord'g to a color CODE chart from somewhere within Toyota's own website.

How did you manage to get your hands on an '09 brochure months before the '09 Priuses start to arrive [Sept 15th (probably on the west coast) & by the end of October on the east coast (probably latest in New England)]? Dealerships around here don't usually have the new brochures available until December (AFTER the new cars start to arrive).

    Ken,

I get my advance info through the actual Toyota fleet system, always months ahead of the retail system (including so-called fleet/Internet sales at dealerships) for inventory planning and early order incentives.

I'm usually one of the first in the US to get new vehicles due to early ordering, my POE being the closest to Japan and selling dealer minutes away from the POE so no rail transport needed.

The inside back cover shows the same nine colors carrying over from '08 MY.

Well, I just tried the scanner on the colors page and it worked long enough to get this before the LED transport failed again:

Of course we've been surprised before by last minute changes in the lineup (Magnetic Gray for one) that didn't make it into the brochure, so a new color could happen.

I saw a Toyota document for the Prius that said:
    2009MY (line-off Aug. '08)

Which would imply first dealer arrivals Sept/Oct.

Does "anytime" mean sooner than that?

How about Pricing for all the 09 Prii, do they stay the same as late-08 too?

I get the VIN about 3-4 weeks before delivery. No VIN yet, so August sounds right.

No pricing info yet. I'm hoping we get a cut like our Canadian friends, but with the current ¥/$ exchange rate, that might be wishful thinking.

my dealerships said the 09's will be out early this year, because it is probably going to only be out for a half year, as the 10's are scheduled for release in spring of 09, so the 09 model year will last about 6 months. I put a $500 deposit on a 10, specifing I am only accepting if it is a PHEV.

Mitch, I'm thinking the same. Look what they did with '09 HyCam, a marketing decision to sell against the new Accord. Maybe the re-hashed early release of the '09 brochure is another indicator.

I work at a financial institution and we have been funding a few 2009 Toyotas since as early as February. I personally did one Sienna and one Camry as early as February or March. No Priuses though.

what i really want to know is how much the price increase will be. it seems like the 2009 will have a short life.
