Ya, you guys are so lucky that you bought yours before the rush. Now people like me have to wait 4-6 months.
No need to feel blue...even with the wait time, you can still buy one eventually. Still, Prius is not the only Hybrid on the roads these days, but probably the only Hybrid people know. Have any of you on the wait-list consider buying other Hybird alternatives?
Yes, I test drove a Camry Hybrid the same day I drove a Prius for the first time. For me, the small trunk size of the Camry was a concern since I'm used to hauling stuff for my house in my Jeep. The Prius is a good size, so I didn't consider the Ford Escape Hybrid.
HA! You don't know anything about waiting. Try waiting in 05 when only 175,000 units were available world wide. Last year 280,000 units were sold. This year: 450,000 units! Oh, wait, I don't either, I only waited two weeks in 05 when I got mine. If you want an 07, there's on on the used car lot at the end of my street... Waiting all depends on where you live and how far you are willing to drive to get one. For example, In 2005 and 2006 Seattle and east Seattle are always low/out of stock but if you were to take a ferry ride to Bremerton (just an hour or so away) there half full lots with them... If you look, there isn't much waiting.
Back in the day (2004) ~ when only us weirdos drove the Prius, my spouse had our original owner deliver it! ... he drove it down to us from Sacramento ... what, 450ish miles? Under $20K with every option. Those were the days. Just don't ask me how many blunders I do, for every one good thing .
I like how the number two vehicle is the Lexus LX, with 14 mpg. Even with that mpg, I still think it is a beautiful car (let the bashing commence).
