I have for sale 4 Toyota center caps that will fit the Touring wheels. These were put on the wheels and removed. $30 shipped in Continental US PM me if interested
Dagnab it... So that's what I need for my trim ring removal mod. Anyone else have any to sell or know what the new Toyota price is ?
you can get them here: http://www.metrotpn.com/ProductDetails.aspx?CollectionID=25&ProductID=198&SortIndex=25 $11 plus shipping
So, $44 + shipping for the set. I see that webpage says: " Ideal for those that remove the wheel covers and are not happy looking at the unsightly hole in the center of the wheel." I was figuring it does slightly more than just cosmetic duty. I presume it would be good to keep dirt etc. off of those bolts and perhaps there's an extremely tiny aero benefit. I'll reconsider my first thoughts, and look for something the right size to "re-purpose" into those holes. Something mirrored, or retro-reflective might be cool, or something plain black or grey to match the wheel cover. I can't think of any way to put LEDs or other lights in there and look tasteful IMO, but reflective surfaces with some sort of sparkles or rainbows or diffraction or something cool could like nice in daylight IMO.
These are the same center caps that come on a non-touring Prius, so just ask a friend who has one of those to take a closer look at the actual caps.
Thanks for the help, but I would have done that if i could. Refinery towns don't have to many of these.
The inner diameter of the hole, or the outer diameter of something to stuff in there seemed to be about 2.25 inches to me, perhaps within 1/16 of an inch or so.
Hey, I appreciate your measuring the size for me. Unfortunately I need a 2.5" OD cap. the RPF1 wheels look pretty good without the crappy-looking black caps that are offered by Tirerack.com for $25. Monday I'm going to see if some blue Enkei caps will fit, but I'm not too hopeful since they're for 19" ones.
heyyyyyyyyyy, i recently purchased a set of touring rims, put them on my standard 08. just to let you all know, the STANDARD center caps from my stock rims will fit in the center of the touring rims. i'll enclose photos for you to check out. cheers:flame:
