Picked up our new Driftwood Pearl Pkg 2 this AM. (No pictures yet!) Got 61.2 mpg on the one hour drive home from the dealership (some in town and some highway miles)! DH says it was fun to drive - surprisingly smooth and quiet. I got to drive the Yukon gas hog home! I got 19.9 mpg. We were on the waiting list 34 days with 3 color choices - Silver Pine Mica would have been our first choice but we weren't going to say no to the Driftwood and keep waiting! The dealer is no longer adding any names to "the list" because the '09's will be out before he can fill the orders he's got. Didn't want the ToyotaGuard but it was already on the car - tried to sell us on the extended warranty but "no, thanks". Appreciate all the great info here on Priuschat - has been a great help.
Nice to see more Prii popping up in the southeast. Enjoy your car, and be sure to find the "secret door" under neath the center console/drink holder.
Your new Prius is in the garage? Bet you're trying to think up somewhere you 'need' to go, just so you can drive it somewhere . . . anywhere. I know. Been there, done that. Welcome to PriusChat . . . and the wonders of driving a Prius.
Congratulations, MReady2Travel! welcome to PriusChat! :welcome: Now the fun really begins. Great milage on the way home.
WoW, Great MPG's for the first trip!! :first: Welcome to PC... Best of luck with your new baby. BTW Boy or Girl??
how do you know its a she? did you lift its little tires?lol btw, i've had toyoguard on my last 2 toyota's and they looked great when i sold them...most will say its nothing more than a good wax job seat protection and undercoat, but you can judge for urself..enjoy
i have a driftwood pearl coming in my name and not too sure on the color. i don't mind the exterior, but the bisque interior is what worries me. i fear it will show dirt easily. i wish they offered it in gray. congrats on the car though.
Had to put her in the garage - it was starting to RAIN - couldn't let the new baby get wet!! She passed the "Grandma" test today. We took my 95 year old mother to lunch hoping she could maneuver getting in and out OK! She loved it - much better than the Yukon! You're right about wanting to drive it somewhere - leaving in a few minutes for a 2 hour drive to our son's house for an overnight visit. Of course, I've been driving for almost half a century but DH complains about my driving habits - braking too hard, too hard on the accelerator - maybe we can't SHARE this car! No name yet - never had a vehicle we felt like needed a name. Of course it's a girl 'cause she's so "PURDY"!!!
One day you will notice that you are gliding to traffic lights. A fair rule of thumb for good FE is that the instantaneous mpg should be half the speed during acceleration.
