I bought a 2005 Mag Grey #6 from Carmax 2 months ago - just as gas prices really spiked - and I love it. I've been lurking here since then, learned a lot and finally registered. My car had 61,000 miles, but is in great shape inside and out. Took it to the local Toyota dealer and they said it just needed a few things from the 60,000 mile service, so Carmax took care of that. Interestingly, in the last couple weeks I've seen comparable cars on sale for $2000 more than I paid. Of course, now that we replaced the minivan, our 1995 Accord has developed Japanese Car Syndrome - the car will run forever, but things are gradually breaking. My wife wants to replace it with a Prius so she can drive one, too. Can't blame her, really. So the first of the year we may be looking for another one. Anyway, I look forward to lots of interesting conversation on PC.
:welcome: Welcome to PriusChat, Norm! Magnetic Gray wasn't a color offered in 2005. I think Mag Gray didn't show up until 2007. Have fun driving!
I think it came in in mid 2006. We wanted that color, but we bought too early in the year (we were on a list too) and didn't want to wait any more.
OK, I stand corrected. The color code on the door plate is 6S9, so I guess I have Tideland Pearl, even though it's definitely grey with no hint of green. Oh well.
No. Tideland Pearl, the bestest most awesomest color ever put to metal, was only available in 2004 and 2005. Most of the time, the paint will look gray but after a good washing and waxing, as the sun sets and the light comes at a low angle, you can see the color change to a hint of dark green blended in. There simply is no better Prius color. :welcome: Welcome to Priuschat and to the Tideland Pearl collective.
very true, i wonder why they discontinued that color. it is such a great looking color for the prius.
