So I talked this morning to an internet sales person and they will be running monthly lotteries for each months allocation instead of having people on a waiting list. Has anyone else heard of this sort of practice at other dealers???
Well, did they have a list going to start with? If so that would unfair for those people. They could to the lottery after fulfilling the list.....
The dealer claimed this is how they have been doing things. I am amazed they wouldn't just take deposits and work from a list versus this lottery system. I asked if others were doing to see if this is something being commonly done or only at this dealer in NC.
After thinking about it, I would personally not like a lottery..... Let's say I'm in the lottery 3 months in a row, but doesn't win. If I keep going I'll keep competing with the new people who were not part of all the other previous lotteries. Just doesn't seem right. I think I'd find another dealer who do have a list, there are plenty around.
Never heard of that before. My advice: Go to your credit union and ask if they have auto-buying services. I got mine in May for 2000 under sticker that way. I even picked it up at the credit union. Never saw the dealer.
Yes, here in Austin, TX, Charles Maund dealer is a lottery dealership. No deposit required. List of all cars available night before with options. First name out of the hat gets first choice etc. I decided to go with another dealer and left a deposit.
