UPDATE....
Darn it! Just talked to the dealership and it will be late next week before my Prius will be delivered...all because of the stupid XM radio. Apparently there has been a backlog on XM receivers and it will be Monday before they get it installed and ship my car. I could live without XM radio, but at this point it will only make a couple of days difference in the delivery date. According to the dealer, SET only called them this morning about not having the XM radio. Had they called the dealer last week about the radio, I would have definitely passed on it and I could have had my Prius this week.

On the positive side, I had cancelled the extended warranty and maintenance plan on my current vehicle last week. The refund will be almost $1500, which will reduce my payoff. Right now the refund is still in never-never land, so hopefully by the end of next week that refund will have been applied to my outstanding loan. I would have gotten the refund either way, but I would rather be able to reduce the amount I am going to be financing up front.

 

I have had my car a week and a day and am loving it. I could not have asked for a better car and experience. (30 day wait). I am averaging 54 mpg.

 

I have been on the waiting list since 6/14. I talked the dealership yesterday....he thought by the end of next month I should have the vehicle. He said they received 17 Prii in the last shipment.

 

Hello everyone! I placed my order on May 20 for a 08 Touring with Package 6. I called my dealer a few day's ago and said that I was #6 on the list! Looking forward to joining all the fellow Prius owners!

 

Hi - another newbie here.

Can't do anything to cheer you up except to commiserate with you in the wait.

We got on the waiting list at our dealer near the end of May with a projection of 30-40 days.

Then they called a week ago saying late August to mid September because their allocations seemed to be slowing down and they were getting very uncertain.

Then they called last weekend saying we were now #9 on the list (now over 6o people long and that there was a very good chance that our car would be in next weeks allocation and therefore beat the Aug/Sep date by a bunch (Yeah!). We'll see if it turns out to be true....

No super hurry on our part except for the anticipation that lots of us are feeling (plus a niece who is waiting for our old car).

We did get one call from the sales guy over the weekend and one on Monday that cars unepectedly "popped up" when someone on the waiting list decided to buy something else. The sales manager at this dealer then lets all the sales people call their customers with "first person with $2,500 (beyond the $500 deposit) gets the available car." Our sales guy was slightly beat out getting our credit card number back to the sales manager or we would have picked up a Prius last weekend (darn). The one that "popped up" on Monday wasn't a color we wanted.

So, like lots of others.... we wait (impatiently).

 

My update (start of wait, 4/26):

Received a call (and email) from my dealer w/ my VIN number and Vehicle Inquiry Report. Car shipped on 6/20, expected at dealer between 6/30 and 7/7! Based on the report, the only PIO is the carpet mats. Getting closer!

After expecting my Prius to come in yesterday (6/25) and then finding out that SET had called the dealer that it would be next week due to some backlog getting the XM Radio receiver, my salesman calls me late this afternoon to tell me my Prius had just come in! He was shocked to see it on the truck and even double-checked the VIN to be sure it was mine and it was (and the XM radio was installed).

I will pick up my baby tomorrow morning (after my financing check is delivered by FEDEX)! YEA!!!!

We just received our July allocation. 34 units on it with potentially several more in the pipeline. OTOH the rest of the stores in our district got NONE or ONE. Recent investments got us the pick of the units.

 

UPDATE ....

Just got a call from my dealer this afternoon asking me to come in and fill out all the paperwork. My car should be at the dealer in the next few days.

Got the call yesterday saying that it was just waiting to be loaded on a truck (five hour trip). Completed paperwork and was hoping for today - no luck - and am really hoping for tomorrow!

If I would have known then how the market was going to SPAZ OUT just after getting on the list, I would have put my name on one of the Barcelona Red Tourings that was on the regional allocation list they showed me back on 4/26...but I figured I wouldn't wait that long for a Mag Gray or Spectra Blue Touring...and I didn't figure on Toyota deciding not to send Tourings (except the occasional 6) to this region...but I do have a VIN now!

I truly wish you "catch the boquet" and get the next call!

I am infinitely more excited about my hubby's Prius coming in than he is.

I come here to do research. Because you know, it's his car but I need to tell him about it....so that I can drive it...

 

Good luck with that! Hopefully your hubby will listen.

Mine claims that he has "been watching me drive" my Prius so he knows what he's doing. Ha!! Like watching Rachel Ray means you can cook like her! :hungry:

 

Last night I dreamt that I got a white Prius. Although it wasn't the Barcelona red I had ordered, it had the leather bisque seats and I kept pinching myself (in my dream) because I was enjoying it so much! The dream didn't include picking it up from the dealer, just the joy of driving it on the back roads in my area.

Of course, I woke up to the reality that I've been waiting a month and am likely to wait a lot longer....

 

I ordered mine on Monday afternoon; it is now Friday evening. And I get so miffed every time I read on the (rest of the ) forums that someone GOT THEIRS. Geesh, it's gonna be a LONG 2 months!
