This morning on the southbound 210 near Pasadena, I was passed by a white Prius with what appears to be a plug-in receptacle on the left rear bumper. It passed me quickly, and I had to speed up to 85 to catch it, and grab my camera from my briefcase. The picture is not great, but it shows the plug-in. Note that it has "CA Exempt" plate used for state or local official vehicles. I don't know if it is some kind of test vehicle, or part of a plug-in fleet. It had no other obvious markings, and exited to another freeway just after I snapped the picture. Anybody else see these in LA?
That appears to be the spot that Hymotion performs their upgrade. Obviously, someone else could put the plug in the same place.
interesting concept for a prius, that is for sure. I am not sure I am ready for one in my current house but when I move I will surely want a garage this time around that has power. thanks for sharing.
I recently saw two Plug in Prius in person. I got to ride in the Li-Ion one. Here is the write up. PHEV
there is a plug-in running around downtown Indy.. I think it was done by students at (IUPUI ?).. is covered in PHEV decal.. interesting, though I've never had a chance to talk to the driver
