Aussies to finally get a local hybrid

    Personally, would sooner see the hybrid treatment given to the Land Cruiser. Then the bushies would have a real vehicle to work with. But any AWD vehicle would be another step in the right direction.

    I say Kluger because it is the same as the Hilander which is available in the USA as a hybrid. It has no mechanical coupling between the back axle and the engine but uses an electric motor in the rear axle to provide drive to the rear wheels if there is a loss of front axle grip. To introduce the Kluger hybrid would not cost a lot as it uses existing hardware and technology where the Land Cruiser would require extensive development to hybridise.
    Come to think of it, why not an AWD Camry Hybrid?
