Hubby is on a waiting list and we got a call today from the dealer--a package 1 had come in in one of our color choices. We wanted a #2 or #3. After debate we passed on it. The salesman said it's been running 90 days but maybe sooner. At least *I* still have mine!
They called again--they now have a package 2 but in another color. I'm not making this decision! :juggle:
It depends on how badly you want the car. I personally gave 3 different colors but was firm on the package. However ended up accepting a different package after all (#5 instead of #6). How much more would you get per gallon compared to the car you're driving now? Consider how long the lists are now....
I would first make sure you get the color you want. It may be easier to ask your dealer how long the wait would be if you "stuck it out"; you may not want to.
Since I already have one it's up to hubby. He says he can wait. He also says he won't be obsessive about the mileage etc when he gets his. We shall see, won't we??
If you wait 2 more weeks and it cost you 2 more tanks of petrol at whatever milage you are getting compared to what you could get it might cost you what? $60 to $100 to wait. In 12 months time when you are driving the exact car you wanted or a colour or package you didn't want do you think $100 will matter all that much? Wait for just what you want.
Yup the dealer I bought mine from says he has never even seen a package one and that they are special order only from his dealership....
