Sorry for not seeing this before - yes, I am referring to the price of Regular Unleaded. We all know that if you have a Prius you need to only be putting Regular in it...
Quite a few chose 7 June, and with yesterday's crude oil increase, I think they are the 'winners'. So to speak.
BINGO! (I lose) Gasbuddy says the national average is $4.023 today, Saturday, June 7, 2008. Bummer. I picked my parents' anniversary, June 12. Missed it by THAT much.
The $4.00 Gallon of Gas Contest ENDS? Just watching Headline News... AAA reports gas went up 2¢ overnight, so we're paying an average of $4.00 a gallon, and yes, prices on GasBuddy.com show prices are at $4.029 this morning (I am Alex9990 on the local Jacksonville, FL GasBuddy site). I also lost since I bet it would be May 30th and I was too early though I was hoping it would spike to $4.00 on that day.
For purposes of this contest, AAA is the measure. So according to AAA, isn't today June 8, 2008, the day gas hit $4 a gallon?
If we're going by AAA, then today is the day gas first passed the $4.000 mark. Shucks, I thought maybe we could go by gasbuddy.com! ;-)
BOOYAH! I knew I should've put two today, instead of hedging bets and going one today, one yesterday, and one tomorrow. Still, awwwwwright, free tank of gas. Then again, I only put in my bet for today as a hedge against yesterday, so, I'm pretty stoked. Awesome. Never thought I'd be happy to see the nation hit $4 / gallon. Of course, I just filled up yesterday for $4.35 ... so ...
Maybe not. It could be open to interpretation: I think AAA announced at @3:00 a.m. EDT this morning June 8 that gas passed $4. But I think that announcement was based on data compiled for yesterday June 7.
Ah, a little over-jubilant. I just read the rules to see what happens next and now I have to duke it out with 17 people (If it's Sunday) or 25 people (If it's Saturday) for the win. Or well, suck up to the dog as "If there are multiple members who correctly guess the same day, the winner will be chosen randomly from the selection of correct entries. By random I mean that I will probably ask my dog which of you should win." So, if you could pass this message on to your dog: Who's a good dog? Yes, YOU'RE a good dog. Who wants a treat? Walkies? Does doggie want walkies? Yes, good doggie.
Some jerk in Israel popped off about Iran yesterday. That did it. $4.04 this morning down the street. It's called supply and demand. You know, "free markets" --or how the price changes daily with the fear factor.
