Need to find a way to get seat covers for 2 dogs & one child - don't want to hurt the side airbags etc - any suggestions on where to purchase or what brands may work would be appreciated.

    Thanks

autoenhance.com makers of "exact fit" seat covers told me they were working on a solution for the 2004 Prius and to check back with them from time to time. I'm in the same boat...ivory interior.

yup - tan interior, a six yr old son and a large dog. I'm going to let them get a bit dirty until I find the seat covers & then have the interior detailed prior to covering. Thanks for the head's up. I'll bookmark them and check in periodically

:) :p   I also looked into this. Check out http://www.misssideless.com/Products.html for custom set covers but they are very expensive. I hope this address is correct. Their phone number is 1-888-777-3301. Their question e-mail address is [email protected]. I had an almost new set of sheepskin covers I was not using and after talking to the Toyota Service Manager, he suggested putting them  :pukeright:  :x on and cutting out the outside bolster cover on each seat. I also had to cut out an oval on outside bottoms for seat recline lever. They do work and look fine.

does anyone use scotchgaurd? a friend suggested that i try that, but i am hesitating, wondering if it will change the (oh so dreamy) texture of the upholstery.

I just did the ScotchGuard yesterday. I have a Silver with grey interior. I did not see any change in color. But it does take awhile for it to dry. I left all the doors open for over two hours. Also make sure you have a damp towel to wipe up the over spray. I did take a way a little of that new car smell.

I used Scotchgard on mine the day after I got it. I've used it on all of my cars and it sure does help keep the fabric clean. 303 Products also makes a good fabric protector, and I want to re-do mine with it next spring, since I have heard many good things about it. The gray interior is more forgiving than the beige might be IMO.

Try www.gtcover.com for seat covers. They appear to have a set for the front that clears the seat side air bags for $129.95

    I don't think that's a valid web site.

Looks like a spelling error...that q should be a g www.gtcover.com the greatcovers website is the same company but the gtcover one is their newer one where you can find the 2004 Prius. They might have fixed the other one by now. With the new one you can enter the make, model, and year.

Just got my seatcovers installed today from GT Covers. I'm lucky that I am in the Denver area where they are located as it took them 2 hours to install the covers. Thrilled with the results - looks really good - the front seats in particular! In fact, they took pictures of the interior so as to put it on their website. I got both the front and back seats covered. This includes all the headrests and back armrest. The backseats still work as designed with the 60/40 split. Also there are sewn pockets on the front seat (beneath your legs) and on the back of the front seats- nice! There is a flap of fabric that tucks in where the side air bag comes out on the front seat.

FYI, I have the ivory interior with the salsa red exterior and ordered the N6 Beige and it looks REALLY good. It is a good match for the tan interior of the car. The covers are slightly patterned and a bit darker than the original ivory to help hide dirt. The fabric is a velour and feels soft and durable - not unlike the original material.

I will take some pics and post them (after I figure out how). You can email or call them and ask them to send you a fabric swatch as the colors on the website look a bit different. I also requested that they make me a cover for the middle front console. They used my car to make a pattern for it today and are going to send it to me when they are finished - $15. I'll let you know how that works out when I get it.

Nice people and professional. Their website is http://www.greatcovers.net/.

They told me that the covers can be installed without professional help, but that the rear seats need to be removed to install them and that it would take some time and patience. Let me know if you have any questions.

Looks nice. So what color did you order? I ordered mine today but didn't see the back seat offered online. I ordered the N15 beige color since it looked like the closest match in velour fabric.

The seat covers pictured are color N6 Beige. The N6 is a bit darker than the original ivory color and has some bluish specks in the pattern. I think this helps hide dirt better. You might want to get a fabric swatch mailed to you to check colors as they do look slightly different than on line.

GT Covers just (2 weeks ago) completed the pattern for the rear seats. You can call them and tell them if you want them. (I'm sure soon they will get the back seat on their website.) Tell them that you found out about the Prius covers from this chat line - from the girl who just got them installed in Denver with the red 2004 Prius- maybe for the referral they will give you a discount. It doesn't hurt to ask. For the record, I am not affiliated with the company - just a happy customer.

I have always used sheep pelts for seat covers for my cars, but have never bought a form-fitted one, I just lay a skin on the seat. It does move beneath you a bit but it is washable if necessary. I get them from sheepskin.com.

One thing I like very much about my Prius is that they move beneath you a lot less on the cloth seats as opposed to leather :)

    Peace
