My MPG are going crazy... I have slowed down some going about 62-65MPH on Interstate and temps are going up around 85 today..I was really hoping to make it 600 miles on this tank, but chickened out when last pip started blinking I did not want to run out..I am at 60MPG on this current tank 120 miles into it...If I ever make it 600 miles on a single tank I am thinkng of starting a (600 mile club) anyone interested? My commute is 90 minutes mostly Interstate...I also switched to synthetic Mobil oil..
That's great. I managed 60.0 on one tank last summer. Once you hit it anything less doesn't feel quite as good as it did before. Yay for summer!
Getting nice and warm in the UK, getting back up to some great figure 60+. I have a very light down hill section on the way home from work, about a mile long bit of straight then a bit of twisty then a straight. In winter cannot get through the 1 mile without the ICE coming on, now I can make it everyday. There are a few more of these opportunities on the way home and I'm sure this is what is getting me the extra 10mpg. Why will it glide so long in the summer without loosing that much speed that the ICE comes on. All I can put it down to is increased tire pressure in the summer. (with dry and wind free day which you do get in the winter) Any thoughts.
A little off-topic but the "Ignore user" feature under "UserCP" works. I was getting a headache. I'm finding above 80-85F the morning warm-up is outstanding. I've long suspected it is not linear and more is involved than just the engine/transaxle. I'm beginning to suspect tire warm-up hasn't received enough attention. Bob Wilson
Well I finally got my first 600 mile tank this car keeps getting better and better...I love My prius had a guy come over to me at the local Dairy Queen and ask me about my MPG's just so happened I had this on my screen to show him he could not believe it he went and got his wife and let her see it they got in it and opened all the doors. They where driving a camry after seeing my MPG's and looking it over said they where going to trade it for a prius ... They also talked about Wayne and that CBS specail he did... My next goal to get 60 MPG and maybe a 700 mile tank..
I cannot get more than 500 miles on one tank, I can go about 130 miles without losing a single bub, but once that first one goes away, the rest go quick. Sometimes ive end up with a higher average that the picture below, but way less miles at refuling time, i dont know why. this is the most ive gotten on a single tank and with the last bubble blinking and yes, the screen is dusty.
I get gas as soon as possible when the last pip starts blinking or sooner if I know its a long way to next gas Exit..
