I just realized this the other evening. I had a passenger in there earlier so I thought she broke my glove compartment , shoved it back into place for a quick fix,and didn't tell me.

    WHAT!!!
There are funny little red things by my door handles????

Just a side note to those who cannot understand why some do not read the owners manual vs reading forum post:reading puts me to sleep/using my computer does not......

Also I can read manual and each time find something I missed/forgot.
For some reason I remember what I read on line to a much higher degree.

Maybe it is an old age thing, 60+:tinfoil3::tinfoil3:

On 2006+ Prius the driver side "HYBRID" fender emblem is different from the passenger side. It is somewhat italicized, no doubt to overcome the drag of the flat side of the leading "H".

Yeah, I had that experience just a few miles from my house on a road that's been built for three years. And I have the lastest NAV system disk! It's a strange feeling to look at the screen and see yourself driving through a cornfield (or whatever.)

If you look at the gas gauge, in the center above the gas pump is a little arrow pointing to which side the fuel filler door is on

The Prius sits surprisingly high in the driver's seat. Almost as high as a typical SUV. A bit higher than the Subaru Forester, though the ground clearance is lower. This gives an excellent frontal view of the road. Also, the front dash is unusually long--there must be 3 feet from the steering wheel to the front window, which makes up for the relatively short front end/hood. Safer for the front occupants.

    whoa.... <cue x-files music> haha.

Well the HSD logo at the back spells HSD too.

I don't know if it's as high as a Forester. If it is, then my smart's an SUV lol. I definitely sit higher up in my smart than in the Prius. Ground clearance on the Prius is about 3-4". Lower than your typical 5" for a Corolla/Camry.

I discovered while putting mud flaps on the steering wheel can turn w/o key.
For many years the removing the key locked it up.
I started driving with starter on floor board, next it was on dash then steering, now back to dash!

Yeah I'm not sure why the Prius doesn't come with a steering wheel lock.

The steering wheel lock was an attempt to make the vehicle less susseptable to theft.

The engine imoblizer is a much greater deterent. The optional anti-theft system offers additional protections.

This is one of my annoyances.

When ur in reverse and get a phone call, you can't use ur back up camera. Almost hit something a couple of times with this.

Does anyone know how you can change the default screen from the consumption/energy screen to the audio screen?

I suppose but it doesn't hurt to layer the protection, does it?

Actually, the Forester is higher--according to msn.com/autos. I pulled up next to one at a traffic light, and swear I was higher. The Prius is lower than SUVs, but about 2" higher than the Civic. It's pretty high for a compact.

Since many Prii have smart key systems, I guess a steering wheel lock would have to be electronic rather than mechanical. That's one thing I wouldn't want to trust to electronics!
