Is there any way to turn off the prompts "Speak your command after the sound of the beep" -- or whatever it is exactly -- so that I can speak a command as soon as I press the Talk button? Or at least just give me the beep without the long explanation? After hearing the instructions over and over I think I've got it by now. It's especially annoying when trying to call somebody. "Dial by name" Dial by name selected, wait for the next screen and then speak the name "Voicemail" Voicemail selected, press the offhook button to begin your call press offhook button I know the actual process goes a little different, but in any case it still takes like 30 seconds just to make the phone dial. I'm tempted to get one of those lockpick things so I can just use the touchscreen.
Heres voice commands for japanese prius Flickr: Photos from cameramanff May be somebody can record how this commands pronounce
Ben, Did anyone ever answer your question? I am disappointed in lack of 2008 info on this site. Have you noticed same? A lot of older stuff doesn't relate because of changes made. Can we start a 2008 site? I couldn't get Danny's list of commands to open. Don't think they are posted anymore. He did that in 2004.
I haven't heard anything. I have the touring model and recently saw that it gets 2 mpg less than the regular model in the current issue of Comsumer's Report. I wonder why? Is it just as important to get a stiffening plate for the touring model? Just as important for a 2008 model as it was for the body integrity of a 2006 model?
-I didn't read the beginning of this post so forgive me if the following info doesn't properly apply- Our 2008 owners manuals have the voice commands. There's a booklet on the navigation system. The back page is voice commands. About PC low on 2008 info... This site has been around for a while giving it time to fill with good Prii info. Every week more and more 2008 experiences/info gets poured in. Enjoy the Prii foundation in place. Soon more '08 info will build up. .
I'm pretty sure there is - I'm not at my car at the moment but in one of the setup screens there's a choice for making the voice prompts more abbreviated or gone entirely. I did it for exactly your reason - waiting for the voice prompt to end and then the beep was getting annoying. I know what I did affects the navigation voice commands, I haven't tried the phone dialing voice commands (I just have the numbers I need to dial in the speed-dial buttons which you can always use while driving).
