I'm an estatic new owner of a used 2004 Prius, purchased 3 weks ago. Thought I got a great deal - only had 23k miles, paid $17,800. As a newbie I want to say thanks to everyone. I stumbled upon this forum and love it. In a weeks time I have cancelled an added on extended care warranty from the selling dealer, installed pipe insulation on upper upper grill, read and learned techniques to perfect pulse and glide -already have seen mileage increase to 53-54mpg deactivated the annoying reverse beep, that I passed along to two other Prius owners who were so greatful. I've read about hopeful solar and plug-in technology. My wife and I were so frustrated after seeing "Who Killed the Electric Car" that we went and bought a scooter - gets 120 mpg. Anyway, what a great forum!! I want to purchase and self install side moldings, but have a sort of silly question. How do I know hich silver my car is? It's "silver", but which silver? Classic, Millenium, Pine Mica?
It is probably classic. I'm not sure if the new models have the same color schemes or not but here is a link to the current colors. Pine Mica is green not sure about Millenium. Toyota Prius Colors
I went to the Toyota link and it keeps crashing my internet - MAC user with Safari -. Does anybody have pix of their '04 online - Sliver, Classic Silver or other silver. Where do I find my trim color?
I believe the only silver available in 04 was "Millenium Silver Metallic" which looked like this See Toyota Prius Paint Codes
chuckh - to be sure on the color use the color chart that AdamKPL provided and look on your driver's door sill frame and see what color code is listed. All cars have their exterior color and interior color listed on a tag on the driver's door sill frame. Hope this info helps.
Welcom chuck ... felow '04-er. Ours came to us in '04 and now has around seventy thou~ WOW~ seems like only yesteday. Anyway, you won't regret your new ride.
Chuck, The silver color for the 2004 - 2005 Prius was "Millenium Silver Metallic" (paint code 1C0). The silver color for the 2006 - 2008 Prius was "Classic Silver Metallic" (paint code 1F7). Here's a link to the 2004 Prius eBrochure (which coincidentally shows a Millenium Silver Metallic Prius on the cover): http://www.toyota.com/html/tcuv/brochures/04_prius.pdf Enjoy your car.
In 2004, it was "millenium" silver; your dealer can tell you for sure. There is a paint color number on the info panel (that tells you tire pressure, etc) inside the driver door opening. Pine Mica is the greenish silver that came out in the 2007 model year.
Thanks everyone, it is indeed the millenium. So much knowlegde on this site even for something as simple as paint. Next stop are new side moldings.
