I had a 2008 Prius and it was totaled in March 19th in car accident. (I had it all 3 months) I went to dealer that I bought back in November 2007 on May 2nd. It was in certificate program so you paid $500 over sticker price so you had to go through one dealer for this program in state of Maryland. I asked for same model and color I had previously except adding navigation package. Gave them $500 deposit as they had to order it. I waited several weeks and then inquired delivery date. I couldn't get straight answer of when it would be delivered. I finally asked 4 weeks later I initially ordered the prius and the salesman I had to go through finally tells me every option is going up $2400 and the car I had bought originally in Novemebr 2007 would now be $7000 higher. I asked for my deposit back and he said I would get it back. But my question has anyone heard of this new price gouge or was I just being hosed by this Toyota dealer in Catonsville, Md. Thanks.
I would check on line for the current pricing. They certainly have not increased $7000 even with the navi add.
