Reprograming/disabling navigation system's safety system?

Is it possible to bypass/override/reprogram the navigation system safety feature that prevents you from using the system while driving. I thought I saw posts about this before but can't find them w/ the search. Is there some software to buy or something?

I appreciate the safety feature, but miss being able to have a passenger (or be the passenger) changing routes etc. during a trip/highway driving etc. when it's not so convenient to pull over & plug in a new destination.

Interesting - - you must be using different search terms than I am - -or maybe I'm just not using the feature properly. :twitch:
