Mine were just loose in the glove box. I'm not even sure if anything is missing. So...what was the contents of this package of manuals?
I got the following (2004 BC): 1. Owner's manual 2. Nav manual 3. Scheduled maintenance guide 4. Owner's warranty rights notification 5. Owner's warranty information 6. Roadside assistance program guide 7. Pocket reference guide 8. Pad of valet instructions 9. Basic vehicle operation quick reference guide
ditto Tideland Prius. Red plastic folder. Seems to be fine. My '77 Mercedes has a plastic original folder, too. I did have a '60's German car at one time, a Borgward Isabella. It came with a zippered leather folder.
Black vinyl 4-ring binder, about A5 size, with clear pockets. And another identical one for the documents that stay safely at home - registration document, dealer receipt, test certificate (when it needs one), anything else with name or address on.
Dark blue, el cheapo plastic case. It does the job. I like to think that they spent less money on things like that so they could put more into the overall quality of the car itself.
I think it all depends on the dealer...I just got my brand new 2005 Salsa Prius last night and all the info came in a black leather zipper case with a gold seal on the outside...I'm thinking some dealers just got lazy or they didn't want to spend the money on those spiffy leather cases. LOL!!!
My Owner Manuals were just left in the glove compartment naked. There was no holder of any type protecting them. On Tuesday, in the mail, I received a "Leather Portfolio for Your Glove Compartment" from Toyota Financial Services for being a valued customer. It is not designed to hold the manuals. It looks like a passport wallet with pockets and slots for credit cards, money and airline tickets (or boarding passes in the days of e-ticketing). One of the slots is exactly the size of a US passport. In addition, there was a catalog for a free gift. The choices I remember were a cordless vacuum, cordless phone, walkie talkie set, a Sony AM/FM/TV/Weather Channel clock radio and a rolling duffel bag.
[font=Courier New:da8f46ef12] The cheesy blue vinyl case, plus a section in one of my accordian files. The stuff in the blue vinyl case is scattered, I brought the two books into the house to read cover to cover, which was suggested in another topic. Did anyone else get the full maintainance package? I\'m a sucker for that sort of thing, I had one for my Saturn and liked it, I know it costs more in the long run but it is handy not to have to worry about coming up with the fee every time you do maintainance. The thing is, Toyota gives you a book of coupons that you have to keep track of. That really sucks, Saturn kept all that info online. I was worried I had misplaced the coupons, my 10000 maintainance is due. Fortunately I found them. I\'ll move them to a "safe" place in the car. The double glove box is handy for that. The lady I bought my 2005 from at Page Toyota in Southfield Michigan sent me the black, faux leather Toyota binder for the manual and doc. Very nice of her. I have no idea where she got it or how she got it. All I know is now I've got it

Sheesh! If $8.95 is the retail price, what do dealers pay for them? Any dealer that won't spend a few bucks each on one of these (considering what they're making on the car) is pretty dang cheap, I'd say.
My dealer just gives the owner a cheap, heavy paper holder. I recently complained and the dealer is ordering a imiation leather one for me.
I feel cheated! I got all my stuff handed to me in a manila envelope. So sad. There are some on ebay, you say? I'm going shopping!
I recently bought two 2005 priuses (priui?) from two separate dealers. Long story, don't ask.... One had the zippered factory faux leather pouch(tasteful) and the other came with a cheap plastic pouch (cheesy) with the dealer's name all over it. I figured the dealer with the cheap plastic probably had a desk drawer full of the factory pouches that they did not want to use because they had no marketing value.
Hey, don't complain...my stinking dealer stole the manuals from the car...I got nothing until I complained so much they ordered them. It'll be two weeks before I have a manual...my guess is there won't be any leather package.
Just picked up My Salsa Red on Friday. Got the manila Envelope. I did find the ouuch on sale for $6.95. http://www.kendalltoyotapartsonline.com/Qs...14&BACK=A0003A1
I got my manual in the black leather zipper case with the clear organizer pocket pages inside. They also gave me a cheesy cardboard folder (the kind with little maps to sketch accident scenes on) that I used for the various paperwork copies, and it has room for service records..
