I read a post on here where someone thought there were existing holes for side markers under the fender Hybrid badge.. does anyone know if this is in fact true? I'll install the markers if the holes are there (love side markers) but I dont' want to drill/cut into the fender. Any help is appreciated!
I'm away from my at-home data base, so I can just speak generally... There is in fact a thread detailing installation of side markers including a template for, yes I'm afraid it's true, cutting into the fenders. Side markers from Sigma, ~$89, as I recall. In a separate thread, there have appeared pictures of Japanese and Euro Prii showing side markers where the Hybrid-SD badge is on US models. An irksome question is, "Why if we don't have the lights, and we have to cut into the fender to mount them, are there two small holes under the Hybrid-SD badges?" There is no definative answer. Most simply, maybe they are alignments for the punch that makes the holes at the factory. [Rant On] Then again, maybe it's Toyota's self-serving attempt to strongly discourage removing the badge, a blatant corporate promotional ploy. [Rant Off] My $0.02
hehe, i just read the same thread and had the same question. but from reading what people posted, i think you're out of luck regardless because the hole(s) are allegedly only on 07+ prii. and even if there was a hole, i don't think it would be big enough for the JDM side markers to fit w/o some surgery. check this thread
Sorry for resurecting this old thread but on 08 and up is their an adequate opening for sidemarkers under the badge?
