Looking for Tint Shop recomendations from Prius owners in the Dallas/Collin County Texas area. Any details including type of film and pricing would be great. THE HEATER HAS TURNED ON IN N. TEXAS
I had mine done at Alta Mere in Plano last Saturday. Lumar premium film, $205.00. Ask for Randy. They also carry a ceramic film but the price was more than I wanted to pay.
Somebody on priuschatt turned me onto Huper Optik tint. Try googling it, and see for yourself. It will keep your car about 20 degrees cooler on hot days as well. It is supposed to cost about $100 more than other tint but sounds like it is well worth it since it will not fade, bubble, or any of problems that a few other tints encounter. Anyway, just a though. Do you want tinting for privacy? It's really not needed for cooling. Mine has stayed comfy through three Dallas summers without tinting.
For the UV protection and to cut glare and YES on lowering the "heat" factor on initial entry into the car from being parked in the sun all day at work. Anything to help the a/c especially on the "AUTO" setting-that "Tornado" fan speed is a "killer".
