Does anybody know if I can apply stickers to the outside of the windshield at the top where the radio antenna is printed on the inside? I need to put my Dept. of Defense and associated stickers on that spot. Will it interfere with radio reception? I sent an email to Toyota but all I got was a reply that had nothing to do with my question.
It shouldn't be an issue - there's enough antenna wire there to get a good signal, but then again, what are you listening to broadcast radio for??? Get XM!!
Maybe b/c they're as confused by your question as I am. Are you talking about a 2004 prius or a 1st Generation? The '04, at least, has an External Antenna, not one built into the windshield. The little dark area with dots on the '04 is just window shade/sun block. Putting a DOD or any other sticker there should cause no problems at all. --evan
What is the sunblock on the windshield protecting from the sun. I have a friend who has a Camry XLE with the same area on his windshield. '04 Prius by the way. Stan
It's protecting you from the sun. It covers the upper part of the windshield through which the sun could shine into your eyes but would not be blocked by the sun visors. It also adds a more streamline appearance where the rear-view mirror installs.
