Hello everyone! I've been lurking on this site for several days and I've learned a great deal about the Prius. Thanks to all of you. My husband and I will be going to one of our local Toyota dealerships tomorrow (Tuesday) to make a deposit on our Prius (well, MY Prius.). "We" have selected the 2008 touring, black, package 6. The salesman said that it'd probably be 6-8 weeks before it comes in. I say "Good things come to those that wait". We decided on the Prius primarly because of it's fuel efficiency, but frankly I just like the look of the Prius above other hybrid cars. So wish me luck on getting my new car sooner, rather than later. The first thing I'm going to do is get the windows tinted, then get a shark fin.
If you don't care about features and would be okay with a base model, ask them about fleet allocations. . _H*

I placed an order for a Prius with Toyota Knoxville on May 2. I was told to expect delivery next month, which could mean June 30! And yes, I had to make a refundable deposit of $500. I guess the person who likes to negotiate the purchase price will just have to buy some other car. -- John
