I have just about decided I am going to buy a touring model. The only option I would like to include is the 9 speaker JBL stereo w/ sateliite capabilities. I don't want to pay more than $25,000 before TTL. Has anyone in the DFW area been able to purchase this car for this price?
Hi- Check out Champion Toyota in Austin. Ask for Mike Rosier. We went by the dealership last week and they had two cars on the lot that were both under $25,000 I don't know if they had the pre-installed XM or not.
This is a common price I have been quoted. Has anyone purchased this car for a better price. The best I have seen is $26,063. I have listed the quote below and removed the names of the innocent or guilty as the case may be. My name is Stephanie and I am the Internet Sales Manager here at X Toyota. I spoke with Barry this afternoon and he let me know what your situation was and what you are looking for in a Prius. I want to thank you for your purchase request and the opportunity to sell you the vehicle you desire. I would like to give you some information. I am inserting a window sticker for a Prius Touring that is in the Gulf States Region. Even though this Prius is a sold vehicle I want you to see what the cost is on a Prius Touring that has the lowest amount of equipment out there. I priced that on toyotas site, and it is priced at exactly MSRP. It is a touring, package 3, and carpet mat set. Remember, that Toyota's website already has $400 factored in for the price increase. This is why it appears to be cheaper. I say go for it. It doesn't have the satellite radio that you wanted, but this is okay. Somebody posted a thread on a portable satellite radio unit that will work through a Prius' radio. If you get this, you can use the radio in the car and at home. The way I look at satellite radios is relative to what sports team you like. Sirius has NFL, NHL, and NBA. XM has MLB. Both have all college sports. My last car was silver, and I liked it. It doesn't show dirt and always looked nice. Add some tinted windows, and you will love it even better. Just my thoughts. Have a good day!
if you havent read the posts here about avalability, i'd suggest you do so. and be happy to get whatever you can at whatever price especially on a touring model...personally i'd wait til oct nov and get an 09..
I would consider all options before paying full sticker for one. If you are willing to pay full retail.. wait for the 2009. Good luck!
I did a Dealer scan yesterday for Oklahoma and only found two Touring models available in the whole State!!! One is a package 6 and the other a Package 5 with leather upgrade. They are becoming very, very scarce now and if you find one available at a Dealer, I would jump on it quickly.
:juggle:Go for it -the longer you wait the more expensive they get and HARDER to locate one. And we all know what the "gas" prices are doing. I got mine at Pat Lobb in Mckinney TX.:juggle:
I ordered a touring package 6 about 10 days ago ($28859). I am number 30 on the list. Freeman in Hurst TX. is saying 3 months plus and it will probably be an 09 when it gets here.
Thanks. I am now on a waiting list for the above car and I was able to get it for an even $26K. I did have to go to a dealer in a more remote area and the wait will be around 2 to 3 months. However, I am getting the colors (interior/exterior) and equipement I wanted. I told the guy, "No rush, I am going to own the car for 10 years and can wait until the 09s are out if needed." He said no problem and I am waiting now. I have a 4 banger accord which I regualarly get 30mph in town. I am already a bit of a hyper miler and hope to beat the snot out of most guys soon. I drive over 20,000 miles a year hunting, fishing and herping (I love snakes). I will cut fuel consumption in half. Now, if I could find a way to trailer my boat with the prius...lol. I have a gas guzzler for this and it sits in the garage a lot. I also take boats in the Gulf for tuna and swordfish. Technology needs to catch up with the boating industry. 2.5mpg is a good number fo us and round trips average 400 miles! El sucko. Seriously, I am an environmentalist and almost thankful for the higher prices. People are finally considering energy consumption as a personal problem. We live in a selfish society and it has taken a personal cost for people to take notice. In any case, here we go! I am pumped. All of my herping friends are excited. We will be driving west next summer and splitting gas at 45mpg! That will be like making a personal trip at 90mpg! Woohoo!
