People often come up to me and say that they have heard about an article that says the Hummer is greener than the Prius taking into account the entire lifecycle of the vehicle. The article they usually reference is CNW's Dust to Dust: The Energy Cost of New Vehicles from Concept to Disposal. Well, Bengt Halvorson wrote a great article replying to the CNW article. The problem is that the article is a bit lengthy for some people to quickly digest, so I wrote my own notes on the article using bullet point. You still should read the original article when you get a chance, but I use these notes for a quick reference when speaking to people at educational and green events.
Excellent! Maybe 1 in 5 of the people who approach me with questions or just to talk about my Prius brings up that nonsense CNW report or some derivative of it. I've printed out several copies of your pdf to keep in my glove box for these people.
