The Spectra Blue Mica Prius Club

We picked up our spectra blue #02 today. It was actually my 3rd or 4th color choice, but I think it will grow on me.

I think it's a Cal (berkeley) shade of blue, which is kind of cool.

Hi to everyone. I am kind of late to "report" here. I got my car on 4/29. This color looks great but after couple rainning days.. and some bird drops...

 

As a Cal alum, I'll say that it's close, but Cal blue isn't quite so electric.

Though you know, I really didn't think of it in those terms when I made decision to get Seaside Pearl instead of the SBM. All I really thought about was "dark blue car in the bright Florida sun" and "Remember what the 'Deep Amethyst' Jeep and 'Sonic Blue' Ranger were like when they'd been parked in the sun all day".

Yeah, I know, any car going to get hot if you leave it parked in the sun....

In any event, SBM is still a sharp color, just not the one I chose.

I'm in! I'm in! Just picked up my "Blue Angel" today! Touring, Pkg. 6! Hubby didn't really want to give up my awesome Chrysler 300C, but he said he would if he could pick the color of the Prius. His first choice was Spectra Blue Mica and we managed to find just about the last Touring Pkg. 6 in the whole state of Oregon! Guess what color it was?! Right! Spectra Blue Mica!!!!!! :high5:

 

I saw my first spectra blue on the road yesterday, and it sure was fine. That would have been my first choice, but I needed to move quickly so I got light blue instead. Which I also love.

 

Ok Spectra Blue Boys and Girls, finally took some pics of my one month old Prius. Here's what it looks like with the hub caps off, for all of you deciding to run with the hub caps on or off...

 

Hey 808Golfer, nice car ! Thanks for the pics without the plastic covers. I really cannot make up my mind whether or not I like the Prius like that.... it makes me think, if I am this uncertain, that there is something just not quite right about the way it looks and I can't put my finger on it.... what is it, anyone else feel the same?

 

Thanks Priusuk2008! I think that most people like the plastic covers because it is silver and most cars come with a silver cover or silver aluminum rim. I know with the silver rim or cover it makes the car and rim standout more...the dark stock aluminum rim makes the car look more subdued. I guess to each is his/her own...

 

I love that look without the hubcaps! Also definitely love what you did with your antenna. I guess I'm lucky as I'm able to see your car in person. With the mileage you've been getting and the changes you've made to your car, you're making it really easy for me to decide to get rid of the guzzling Sequoia soon. :thumb:

 

Finish the job. Gold stripes, fighter decals, kills, numbers, name and rank on the door, etc.

Unless, of course, you are Army or Air Force.

WE had to order our Prius color unseen. The salesmen said Spectra blue was a real nice color but couldn't agree on which shade of blue. I came across this group and was able to see that it was a beautiful color. Thank you guys and gals for posting your pictures! When the car arrived (1-week wait) I loved the color! I like that it doesn't look like everybody elses pastel- silver, sand, green or white Prius, the older folks can have those colors! I immediately pulled the trim rings off for a cleaner look. Here's a tip- wax the wheels and they stay clean for a lot longer time.

LOL! Thanks for the welcome! I think after Sunday dinner with the whole family, you might be seeing a few more Prius Converts. There's at least three interested already..all waiting for test rides!

 

Had to drive my Spectra over to Seattle Area so it wouldn't be so lonely- no others in the Spokane area. Must have seen about 5 in the Seattle area, lots of the Medium Blue. Yesterday we passed a Spectra here in Spokane- just purchased, so now I won't be the only one in town with the coolist color!
