Hello everyone, this is my first thread and I am sorry if it has been asked before, but the search has a limit on characters per-word is was a bit hard to find my answer, so I chose to ask it here.

My new 08 Prius comes in tomorrow, and I want to to know how many miles am I to expect to see already on it, and how many your brand new prius had on it when you bought it... can you help a new fellow prius owner out? Also what is the lowest miles you have heard from ANYONE getting on a new prius? The lowest I have seen with my own eyes to-date is 6... ? What is an adverage?

    Thanks again!!! :)

Mine had four on it. The dealer explained that each new car should have three or four miles on it, due to the test driving that Toyota does for each car off the assembly line, just make sure nothing falls off. I know that the miles weren't from other potential drivers, since I bought off the truck it before it was prepped for driving (the SmartKey hadn't even been programmed).

I got mine last week and it had about 100 on it. Remarkably, it had been on the lot for TWO WEEKS and had gone on quite a few test drives! It was a small dealership in a small town. I totally lucked out.

Mine (actually its my wife's) had 44 miles on it so obviously given the posts above it was test driven a few times before I got it. When they brought it out and put it on the lot it was surrounded by potential buyers as it didn't have a "sold" sign in the window! The downside was the few miles on the car - the upside was that the car, having been "broken in" got 54.6 miles per gallon on the 300 mile drive over the Cascades from Seattle Washington to Spokane. Filling up at Costco for less than a double sawbuck was a fantastic experience too.

Mine had 133 miles on it. I added about 10 miles on my test drive.. I guess the rest must have been from others test driving it.

Mine had seven but I had put four of those on with my test drive, so it had three when I first hit the power button.

Lots of good feedback, let me ask you guys this and see what you think? I waited on mine for about a month. It is a package 5 and they added XM, floor mats, and tint to it. They told me that it had 13 miles on it when they pulled off the truck. What do you guys think? Could I have received it with less miles on it? What do you think the cause was for the excess 10 miles?

My Prius had 107 miles when I drove it off the lot. It had been on the lot for 3-4 weeks (I was monitoring the dealer lots while Priuses still were available before the waiting lists started.) and had accumulated test drive miles. I had taken it for a 10 miles test drive before I signed on the dotted line, and the auto technician took it out for a 3 mile run to complete the final checklist before I drove it home.

They got it from another dealer in a trade(the other one was about 20 miles away).

3 miles. Driving around to add non-factory options could easily add 10 or 20 miles, but unless you buy one off the lot (where it might have been subject to test drives) I would not want to see much more than that.

It's only 10 miles. Really not worth worrying about.

Mine had about 35 miles on it when I picked it up, but that was after my very long test drive.

Mine had 8 when I first test drove it, and 27 when I picked it up the next day, it apparently had gone on another test drive or two.

Mine had 58, including my test drives. I test drove a new silver one that had just arrived with only 2 miles on it, though.

I wouldn't worry about 10 miles...it's insignificant in my mind...
