Mine is made by Dashtopper, but I got it at a Toyota dealer. It turned out to be cheaper, plus they had samples so I could see what it would look like. If you get it from Dashtopper you can ask them to do custom work, such as extend the area over the MFD to act as a sun shield.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(aaf709 @ Nov 5 2007, 06:07 PM) </div> Thats not bad. Thanks for the site. I tried to design one myself with a friend who owns an upholstery shop and it turned out to be alot of work what with the hood/mfd geometry issue. They did a nice job.Thank you.
I'll have to check with the dealer again but I'm not sure if this was the same brand. The dashtopper is $47 each online. There must be other brands and pictures of dash mats out there? We have three Prius' in our family so generally what I do for one, I end up doing for the others. I got the one I have from eBay for 21.95 + 9.95 shipping but it only covered half the dash. The dash got really hot during the summer but it cooled down by the time I got the dash mat so I couldn't tell if this would keep the interior cooler. I want to get another brand for the other cars. The airbag is under the dash mat but I don't think there would be any issue with the airbag deployment with this dash mat. Here's a picture of the dash mat I currently have on the car. I've made about 12 of these sun shades for the NAV/MFD but haven't sold any as I've been only giving them out for others to test for me. One style has one bend, the second has two bends. I guess I'll have to tweek it for a carpet dash mat. [attachmentid=12335] [attachmentid=12336]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(prius2go @ Nov 5 2007, 04:23 PM) </div> In the picture, look in the top of the MFD and to the right. You should see something that looks like an "S." That's the connection area between the main piece of material and the place where the airbag is. There is a separate piece of material that covers the airbag.
I just received Dashmat brand for Auto Anything. It looks just like the Dash Topper. There is a rectangular flap cut-out/opening for the airbar. The short dashmat I have, goes into the little pocket windows where the Dashmat brand does not. I'm going to leave the short dashmat on my car and put the full dashmat on another family Prius. I'm not too impressed with the Dashmat brand as the passenger side either fits well on the upper glove box and does not align with the NAV or vica-versa. The measurements on the glove box, vent, power button, dash on passenger side and NAV are not aligned. .02
I know this is a bit late and there is a possibility that no one will ever read it but I got mine from the dealer. It fit like a glove and was only $40 bucks. To me that is a great deal. It looks really slick to I got the Brushed suede. Mark
Sorry here is a pic. It is not the best becuase I took this photo to show off the double din Radio install I had done but you can see the dash mat fairly well. I did not bother sticking it down because it stays in place on it's own. I like this one becuse it is not shaggy and stops high on the dash rather than covering the glove box. Mark
