I bought the EuroPerf and love it. It feels more comfortable to me than not having it. Having said that I had a dickens of a time stitching it. I am now on my third thread roll and will be restitching it this weekend. Can't seem to tie things off correctly and the knot unravels. Arrrrggh.

So, in summary, if you are adept at sewing and knot-tieing, the Wheelskin is worth every penny.

I installed one in my Prius last weekend and it is very nice.

Yes, it feels thicker than the "stock". I find it very comfortable.
I have not seen OEM leather, so cannot answer that one.

I have never installed a steering wheel cover of any kind and was able to do this in about an hour. the included instructions were very concise and helpful. A pair of needlenose pliers was helpful in some situations; I found I did not need to wear gloves.

I got the "combo" perforated and smooth. Glad I did, but would have been happy with one that was entirely either way.

I had an OEM leather wrapped wheel on my previous car (a Subaru) and this is pretty close to that feel.

Well worth the price and time to install, IMHO.

This was one of the first mods I did. I have the non-perf type and am very satisfied.

 

The perforated two tone ones look really sharp, but the non perforated one color looks more OEM IMHO. I would go with a dark charcoal or Black, because if the dye starts coming off on a light color one, you can see black scuff marks. Wheel Skinz told me it might be becuase I used hand loation or aftershave that attacked the dye, which I didn't, but since I have changed to a darker one, I have noticed there are times I might have french fry oil on my hands.

If you have the patience, you might get a tighter install if you can lace it once and then go back in a few days and relace it tighter.

 

In one of the various wheel skin threads, I read a suggestion, by Godiva I think, that indicated a herring bone stitch would probably be better than the whip stitch that everyone seems to be using.

Do these things come with enough of the thread/cord to do this? I don't mind suppling another needle, but am not sure where I'd come up with with matching thread if I had too. Thanks in advance.

 

I just got my Wheel Cover, and stiched it all up per the instructions that were included. Quality is great, soft leather but I really don't like the feel of it overall. I really don't care for the feeling when holding 9/3 how the cover overlaps over the spokes. I will be unstiching mine later today, anyone interested in all black wrap?

 

Put mine on about two months aga and love it. I have arthritis in my hands and the extra thickness of the wheel with the cover on makes it very nice to hold. It went on easy and stitched up nicely. The directions were very good and the time it took almost exactly matched what the directions said.
