I just happened on the way to override the "legal eagles" and enter new address data into the Sat Nav screen...while driving. No modifications...just a little touch screen trick. I looked through the Forum, and do not see any postings on this subject. Old news?
old news. unfortunatly, most of our historical posts have been de-visualized, though we are assured that they are still on the server somewhere...
It seems to be lost. It's somewhere in the old database. A word of warning, do NOT try the other buttons in the Service Menu. Some give info, some reset things and others will really mess you up. I'm curious, is this by pressing MENU, then VOLUME and pressing the upper and lower left corners of the screen? If not, is there another way?
yes...that is the one, aaf709. Thanks. As usual, I am late to the party with 'new' news! Any other tricks I should be aware of? I know how to disable the beeper for reverse and seat belts...
Actually, I'm impressed you figured it out like this. I mean, this discovery happened on the Lexus list and that info was found by accident. This happened back in mid July. Not much. The NAV defeat also activates your calendar and service reminders so your passenger can change them while the car is moving. In addition, it activates the INFO button if you have any POIs up. If you've entered any of your own, and entered a phone number there, you can dial while in motion there (the 1-touch is easier, but you can put other numbers there).
I guess my '05 has a little glitch in the override option. When I use this defeat for NAV usage, it does not allow me to dial the phone. The only thing I can do is the NAV. Ideas?
