All, Does the 2007 prius with HID have self levelling headlights? The reason I'm asking is I just brought my car to Sweden from the US and EU standard calls for self levelling xenon head lights, so when you load up the car they dont blind oncoming traffic. now if I dont have that on my Prius 2007, (which they tell me I dont have) I need to basically replace the headlight bulbs to standard halogen. Can that be done easily? I would appreciate insight to this matter. thank you /magnus
US sold cars? I cant find any information in the specs for my car 2007 or on the web for the 2008 that indicates self leveling HIDs. /m
All of the U.S. HID models have self levelers. Some of the overseas models have a manual leveler located next to the dash dimmer wheel. Tom
Hi shmnilsson, welcome to PriusChat! :welcome: I don't remember who posted this originally, but they were having a problem with the autoleveling HID headlamps in their 2004. The pictures show where the load sensor is located.
Problem solved. They are selfleveling as indicated in this string. I put weight in the back, and sure enough the head lights adjusted. Puuh that just saved me a few thousand.... thanks. /m
That's good. We all knew the lights were self leveling. But I thought that maybe a bureaucrat was asking you for Toyota documentary evidence of this fact.
That might be the case Boo, I'll find out. Here's another question. Does anyone know how to take apart the headlight housing. Is it possible. I need to remove the yellow plastic that cover the position lights or parking lights, the upper outside ones. /m
In The Netherlands you also need a headlight washing installation for Xenon headlights. Don't know if it's the same in other European countries though.
