    1st: I looked in the files section and cannot find the voice command list in PDF format mentioned in other post. I did find a link to priuschat.com/PriusVoiceCommands.htm but this link is not working. If anyone knows how I can find the PDF file I would greatly appreciate it.

    2nd: I live in Mountain Home, Ar and although the NAV map shows the city streets it will not use these for routing. If I start somewhere in town and set a route it always wants me to go to one of the main highways to start navigation. There is no highlighted route until I get to the main highway. Is this standard or do I have something set wrong? If this is the way it is supposed to work I have a IQue 3600 GPS/PDA that does a much better job and cost a lot less. I may be regretting getting the NAV package...

    Voice Command PDF

    If you look in the files section article, scroll down a little and you'll find updated versions of the voice commands as both DOC and PDF files.

    I typically get a highlighted route on fairly small streets, but not all small streets. It shouldn't require a 'highway' unless your very small street only connects to a highway.

    I'm from Mtn. Home (HS grad '85) and my parents still live there, but I haven't really tried the NAV there yet. I would think streets like Cardinal, Main, Bomber Blvd., etc. would offer at least highlighted route guidance if not turn by turn guidance. Tiny side streets are not as likely to do so.

    I'll try to let you know next time I'm in the area and we can compare Prii! I'm in Nixa, MO now (just South of Springfield).

    :) Recently I travelled in a 'non-detailed' area using the NAV system...

    I found that the NAV system worked perfectly until I reached the quite small community. 'Ernestine' politely announced that there was no detailed information for that area so for the remaining 0.8 mile I was on my own (so to speak). This appeared to apply only to street address data. The main streets and highways were always properly identified. I also noted that the small communities' names weren't always accurate. In the builtup cities I have found the guidance to be very good.

    I named by NAV/Voice Command Lady 'Ernestine' after Lili Tomlin's telephone operator character since she sometimes responds in strange, even innane, ways unrelated to my vocal request.

    Do you have the newest data base. Someone in the Bay area was complaining that they could no longer use the rout finder to go home. Maybe there is a bug in the new system. The iQue takes you to some out of the way places and finds them well. As usual it may not take you the best rout but it gets you there. I have used it to get me to Pony Mt and I am willing to bet Mountain Home is bigger. Pony has a post office a school and a bar the rest is a ghost town. It also took me to Potosi Hot Springs which is way off the side of a side road. 4wd recommended except during the middle of summer. It is quite isolated. Nice spot but out there. I will see if I can find it on the Prius.

    :) ? Latest data base?

    Not sure who you were asking. I just upgraded to Ver. 4.2 which is the current "latest & greatest." Prior was Ver. 3.2.

    Still at 3.3 and NAV tell me same thing, two turns away from my house. Funny thing, the streets are there, and they have names, so why can't it direct me to my block?

    Yes that is it. The poster was complaining that with 3.x he/she was ok and with 4.2 it would not work the same. I am just wondering if a bug was introduced with the new version. Check it out here;

    I have not had problems except that the Nav system does not take you a close to your destination as the iQue does. I must be 500-800 feet away from home when it packs in. It does the same else where. It is disconcerning if there is one more turn or so left to do.

    It sounds like that is a problem with the 4.2 version. I will write Toyota and I hope everyone else will too so maybe they will fix it. When it starts routing several blocks away from where you are at I can't see this as very useful.

    Does anyone have a good contact point for Toyota concerning the Prius?
